I am coming to Manchester next week and want to bring some of my sex toys, does anyone know what I can and cannot bring on a flight in hand luggage
Obviously handcuffs are a no no, and I guess my collar as well....so it vib, dildo and blindfold ok?

Those are ok, and you don't need to put the electrical ones in the tray either as I found out to the amusement of the security guys.
Your safe with anything that isn't sharp so definitely no pin wheels etc. Not sure about restraints, I took mine to Ireland and had no problems when I was searched xx |

A few years ago I was coming back from a hen do in Dublin. I had been to Ann Summers and placed the shopping in my hand luggage. When I had my hand luggage scanned the security staff started smirking and stopped any more bags coming through, to investigate in my bag further. He then proceeded to hold up every item high above his head and ask mr if I could confirm whether the items belonged to me.
All other security staff stopped what they were doing and came over to join in, which of course held up all passengers, so they simply stood and watched on.

Really??!  The staff could obviously tell I would take it in the good spirit that it was intended to be.
Is it a case of 'where's there's blame there's a claim' that you are saying I should of complained?

They got pulled out in security mind and waved infront of the huge que of people behind me including a stag party, mortifying, so prepare yourself for that. BUT they did give them me back and let me take them on the flight  |

Anything that is battery powered is ok. Best to pack any batteries in separate cases.
Security staff should be professional as they see this sort of thing daily. Any sniggering behaviour etc would, if I was the passenger involved, result in names being taken and A) the security operator being informed and B) the airline or ferry operator on whose service I was travelling being informed too with a complaint. |

It was roughly 5 minutes, no one missed a flight, and it sure as hell made a lot of people smile. That's not worthy of a complaint in our book. |

Airport staff encounter these items every day. I very much doubt it would cause the slightest excitement among them. All manner of items much more diverse and unusual are dealt with in training. But if it did, unprofessional behaviour likely to embarrass the customer is never acceptable. |

As long as it doesn't look like a prohibited item to the computer or the scanner staff then you're fine.
We took a silicone butt plug as carry on this year and the computer pinged it as a knife. The guy pulled my bag to the side and began rummaging inside it trying to find the thing that the computer had highlighted. In the end he showed me the computer screen and asked what it was. It could not have been a clearer outline of a butt plug I just explained it was a sex toy. He asked me to show him discreetly and I opened the flap where it was held in the bag. He had a quick look and bid us a safe journey.
Op, your collar with the chain will certainly show up bright as day on the scanner and you may get a bag search but you'll still be allowed to take it through. |

This may be a dumb question but unless you’re planning on using them on the flight why not just put them in your regular luggage, I can’t imagine your collar and chain being used mid flight, wanting a quick play in semi public is fine but when in the close confinement’s of a plane is a bit much when there are potentially children around  |

Flying to Manchester from London so hand lugagge only. No trains on Boxing Day and I need to be in Manc for lunchtime  |

On a domestic flight in india , they wanted to open my hand luggage because of my 8in vibrator. They asked me what it was and so I told them it was my electric toothbrush and to my relief they didn’t open my bag to check
