“The ethical slut” might also be an interesting read for you.
However having said that, I personally find a lot of books about alternative relationship and sexual styles written by self professed sex and relationship experts (regardless of how long they have been “practising”) tend to give me the impression that they’ve been written to make money from the anxious yet keen newbies, and give some dubious advice at times to say the least. They are just glorified opinion pieces at the end of the day, and swinging isn’t a science. One relatively well known one in the press saying “swinging stops your partner cheating” which just shows that this person has a very limited understanding of the varying spectrum of human motivation and the many reasons why people are unfaithful. My advice is to avoid any kind of advice/book/seminar that claims in any way that swinging saves relationships or stops partners from lying and cheating. Or that’s it’s a “better” relationship choice.
Honesty, communication and respect gets you everywhere so have fun carrying on with the rest! |

Have you read "sex at dawn" and if so, what did you think of it? |

Ive already recommended it to the OP earlier in this thread. "
Oops! I haven't read it, it's got rather mixed reviews so can't decide whether it's worth it. I'm not really interested in opinion pieces or comparisons to bonobos. The book seems to have an issue with evolutionary psychology too which seems odd given the premise. |

Barry Calvert, the chap who opened th La Chambre club in Sheffield wrote a series of books about his experiences in swinging.
Here's one on Amazon... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Swingers-1-Going-all-Way/dp/1905886640/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1512771334&sr=8-1&keywords=Barry+Calvert

I found it to have, in the main, a majority of very favourable reviews when I looked into buying it but to be fair there may be a number other reviews that I haven’t yet seen that feel the opposite. Which is fair enough if this is the case.
I found it easy to read, and it seems to touch well on different anthropological, historical, socio-cultural, biological and psychological issues relating to human sexual relationships and it proposes theories while at least citing a fair bit of evidence and published studies, and also recommends further reading from recognised researchers in similar fields while helping to dispel and explain certain (perceived) misconceptions. In that respect, I found it incredibly thought provoking at the least. |

Bias, pre conception and money making have spawned many ill informed and opinionated articles on swinging. As you say, have fun! |

We found that the three books written by Barry Calvert are really good, and appear to be an accurate account of Barry & Marie's beginings into the swinging lifestyle... an later into the industry.

Best guide book to swinging is
'Doing one for the team'
written by an American woman whose name I forget. We brought our copy about 10 years ago.
Basically it's a step by step guide to swinging via web sites etc. It offers good clear logical advice or both single female, couples and single males.
Well recommended and helps beginners avoid a lot of pit falls.

I was given Sex in the cities - The Swingers top guide to adult clubbing in the UK by the first couple that broke my Fab couple cherry recently... Not read it yet but it looks good and comprehensive |

... “Sex at Dawn” by Cacilda Jetha is a fascinating and educating read... "The Ethical Slut""
Agree - totally different books, but equally excellent. If your question were "sexuality in all domains beyond monogamy", these would be the answer to your question.
Dr Brooke Magnanti (previous nom-de-plume "Belle de Jour") covers other sex topics, but her insight is rewarding and adds a dimension to your search? Magnanti is a formidable scientist and intellect - worth tapping into. |

Not technically a book on swinging as such, but “Sex at Dawn” by Cacilda Jetha is a fascinating and educating read. It’s about the history and evolution of non monogamy. I highly recommend it."
“Sex at Dawn” is a very interesting book. Monogamy and especially the expectation of lifetime monogamy to one partner is challenged and you can’t help but think that people who practice lifelong monogamy are in the minority.
As we recall, haven’t read it for a few years, the premise that monogamy is a way of controlling women is an interesting one and well made. The book presents a compelling theory for behaviour like cuckolding and the reason why women generally take so much long than guys to orgasm. |
