How do people view winks.

Hi everyone.

What are peoples views on winks?

I'm unsure sometimes whether to bother someone with a message or just to send a wink.

The last thing I want to do is add myself to a long list of messages that some don't like. But is a wink seen as a lazy way of contact.

a kinky mood

We like receiving them and reply to the profiles we like and we also send them just to show interest. It's then up to them if they like our profile

I don't ever look at them.

If people can't be bothered to put the effort in to speak then why should I be bothered to even look at them.

Winkers are idiol lol x

OP, as a guy, I'd suggest winking is nearly a waste of your time.

We always look at winks and decide if we want any further contact, no harm in that.

It has to be said though that most of the winks we get are from single men who have either not read our profile or chosen to ignore what they read, so we ignore them

"We like receiving them and reply to the profiles we like and we also send them just to show interest. It's then up to them if they like our profile "

This is what I was thinking. It's just a polite way of saying "hello I'd like to chat" without hassling the other parson with a message.

they get our attention and encourage us to look at people we may not have actively searched for or who wouldn't have come to our attention. We've had some great meets come from winks...

having said that, we get a fuck ton of winks from straight single men...we just delete them...

Up on them there hills

I think they are a bit of fun, great way to break the ice . If you get a wink back it’s worth exploring things further.

Got to be better than a generic cut and paste.

We don’t tend to look much at winks much anymore as we found over 90% of winks we’re from profiles with very little information and no pics. Plus a well written message with a face pic attached is much better and shows someone had taken the time to contact us.

Would advice only ever send a wink back not as first contact. You have more chance of getting a response from a message. That's my opinion.

A good, no pressure way to spot potential people to meet and possibly strike up a conversation.

We like a wink.if we get one we will look at the profile and if we like what we see we will wink back and let them go from there and the same In reverse. No harm no foul. Maybe different for us as we have single guys blocked so dont have millions to deal with.

Dont agree with the "its lazy" views as its the same as sending a message and not getting a reply.just saves wasting time in our opinion.

Winky dinky di doh doh la la la.

Winks are like a quick wave in the sea of messages. What can easily say “hey,we like you” instead of writing a tome of epic proportions, which may go unnoticed due to the constant bombardment of mails which inevitably may get bulk deleted.

Would be nice if you could reject a wink then your done.

I ignore though occasionally wink back.

I've had quite a few over the years. Initially, I responded with a message but as most of them never went further than that and the rest turned out to be wasters I don't bother now. So I either ignore or, if I really like them, wink back.

I don’t mind I get a few, if I like what I see will message or friend request. Prefer that than the generic ‘Hi’ or ‘How r u’ to many other basic messages that I get.

I see them as a sign the person is interested so I'll read their profile and if I like them I'll message. Some people are against them, sign of laziness etc. I disagree but maybe because winks have actually led to more for me. I believe they have their place on Fab

I will wink someone if I am unsure if I meet their criteria 100%. Usually I would prefer to message.

Of winks I receive, I very often message back. Usually that message is just deleted, so why they winked I have no idea.

We encourage winks. We have blocked messages from single men. But if they wink us and we like them, we will message them. So they are very useful. Saves us getting loads of crappy messages we don't want.

I will look at a wink.

Will also reply with a message as I do not get many.

But I do find most are from single blokes looking for women.

Can't fathom out then why they wink.

But its a nice ice breaker, can also see why women don't reply.

Its because they probably get hundreds along with messages.

Happy Swinging

Winks to me say 'i looked, saw something i liked, too shy to message' kind of feel to them

So do i respond with a wink or message ? Generally seem to have them deleted and blocked so now just ignore their wink

Nothing at all wrong with winks as we tend to only get a couple per day and they are good ice breakers. But I can imagine if like the single ladies and "exceptional" couples, we was to get 50+ a day I can understand why they would be ignored
