We all know that for females and couples it's hard to get through the 100s of messages. For the experienced user they know what it's like or have blocked that sex.

Now for newbies that's bound to be a bit much to handle and is probably why lots delete their profile within hours.

so why not make a new profiles defalt settings to block all sexs, This way the user gets time to set up, see the site and be able to turn on the filters as they see fit.

This would only work if the new users were forced to choose when joining. Otherwise if the step is skipped they wouldn't see any profiles or get messages and move to another site.

We've never even got close to 100 messages, maybe over a fortnight if we've been busy, but not in a day.

A lot of people join thinking it's a porn site and then leave, also we reckon a lot join then bottle it when they realise it's full of real people that actually meet.

I think it's a good idea, OP We've introduced a single female friend to fab and they've had to close their account within hours due to the massive amount of messages! Even though we warned them what to expect, she still found it overwhelming.

Maybe only activating a new profile's messaging facility after they've clocked up a set number of online hours? That way they could explore the site and get a feel for things before being swamped. That could also help control the activities of new fake profiles?

I've long maintained that opting in to receiving messages when signing up would be beneficial. Of only to stop those who pounce on newbies with messages the minute they sign up

I was thinking the other day that setting message filters to block everyone as a default for certain demographics would be a way to hold more single females here beyond the initial "oh crap what have I done" phase. Open profile, but has to message first for a period would allow them to see the best of the site without being overrun.

When I joined the site as a single female I took a few days to look around before I filled in my profile and added any pics. Within those two days my inbox was overwhelmed with messages. I think I must have mass deleted close to 1000, without having anything on my profile!

It’s hardly surprising that ladies get freaked out by this and just leave the site.

I’ve long thought that having all filters set as default and having to opt in would be a wonderful addition to the site

In search, the 'new women' button can't help.

I remember when i joined I was reciving messages from males and tv's for months before i knew about the block button.

In those few months I was ready to explode as there's only so many messages a day you can take from guys offering to suck your delicious cock lol

my thought was that an automatic message would be sent on registration explaining the filter functions so people are able to understand what functions there is.
