I don't think there is a magic number of photos - sorry I couldn't directly answer the OP, OP!
But a few different ones are always a good shout, too samey and they get a bit boring. So maybe it's not so much the quantity as the quality that should be looked at. |

As many or as little as you reckon OP, it's your profile, as long as their of good quality,which yours are  .
Maybe select half a dozen, or so, to show publicly and keep the rest back to create intrigue. Rotating them every now and again will keep interest.

I would say that it's too many when several look the same. Too few is zero. One decent pic that shows generally what you look like (size, shape, build) can be enough.

This is one of those situations where quality is more important than quantity. I'd rather see one well taken torso pic than ten grainy, floppy dick pics. |
