Shibari (ropes)

Hey guys! Hopefully I'm posting this in the correct place! Basically I'm extremely interested in taking up Shibari/Rope bondage. Does anyone know of anywhere in the north east that teaches it? Or is it easier to just learn online (books/videos etc)?

Thanks in advance for any and all info!

You might find more of a community for rope lovers in the other fetishy site we aren't allowed to name on here

The rope person I know who lives in Newcastle tends to go Leeds and Sheffield and Nottingham for peer ropes. I think there is a peer rope in Durham.

There is a shed load of videos on YouTube. There are also a ton of books. If you don't have someone to practice upon then going to a peer rope is a good way to learn.

A lot of people will say videos and books are all you need. My view is they are ok for the basic ties but nothing beats learning from a recognised expert rigger as you can ask questions and get a reply. Good Luck.
