Too good to be true

Hi

Tell me if this has ever happened to you.

Foreign (ie not living in same country as you but not too far either) couple send you a message about meeting. They are younger, attractive, verified but new-ish. They come on a little strong but are otherwise friendly. Pics look legit but profile page clearly identifies them by holiday selfie.

Less than a week later their profile suddenly disappears as note from site is that you've been blocked (I haven't), they've blocked you (they haven't) or site admin took down the account.

Does this sound familiar? I've had two "couples" message me in this way and I get rather suspicious (well... more suspicious than usual... I have Suspicious-Bitch Mode on nearly all the time online ) in recent months.

Is there a rash of 419 scams or Russian mafiosi targeting swingers? I've heard of friends being mugged in dogging car parks or threatened online through Facebook/Skype but this is a new one for me...

There and to the left a bit

As with anything on here, if it sounds too good to be true, or in any way raises your suspicions, it's probably best to steer clear - might be legitimate but if you're unable to verify that to your satisfaction then why take the risk?

Chances are, if it's dodgy, it's no more than a single guy pretending to be a couple

They often vanish within a few hours

I’ve not come across this before...images of a Russian control centre filled with computer geeks frenetically creating multiple profiles while an officer paces behind them barking, “Come on! We must keep the perverts entertained! Entertained perverts are not watching the news! Entertained perverts are not voting! So keep them entertained!”

Stranger things have happened I bet...

Wasn't there another famous kinky website also beginning with an "f" that got hacked last year by some Russian dudes creating fake profiles of implausibly good-looking women promoting other sites?

The ‘couples’ were most likely single blokes
