Hi does anyone have any experience or recommendations on discrete hotels in or around Birmingham city centre? We are ideally looking for hotels where you do not need key cards to get into the hotel or lifts where anonymous guests can get to the rooms without restriction? Hotels that you dont need to walk past reception or it is very discrete to do so?
I know there is the argument that hotel staff dont care what u get up too and we have no problem meeting in bars beforehand and then all going up to the room together etc. But some fantasys we have dictate that we want people to come straight to our room without restriction.
Any experiences? |

"

We have been in this exact scenario, the guy was staying at the Jury's Inn and we just walked in, straight into the lift and in the room without any issues whatsoever. This hotel would be perfect and it's a nice hotel too. |

I'll second Jurys as well, I've used many times no problem, unless it's a weekend late at night they have security doing checks. |

most the city center ones do need key cards as security risks
the holiday inn hill street, had security on but you could come and go as you pleased.
thats the only one i know x |

OP, it's only the budget chain hotels, travelodge trype ones that are key card receptions.
The bigger chain, Holiday Inn, Hilton etc are great big walk through receptions. They have no idea who are guests or visitors. We have used those type ones for hotel meets without any awkwardness.
Have fun |

Unless it’s a Saturday night and past 10/11 when they have security on the door and want to see your keycard |

Thanks, The Jury's inn looks a good choice for being right in the city centre and price is not too bad. Sounds like it could be a good fit. THansk for the suggestion |

Thanks we have run into issues a couple of times when late at night security or reception have not let people past so it is something we want to be aware of. I guess it is more of a problem weekend nights. |

+1 for the Hilton. Had a couple of fun encounters in there. Not a problem getting direct to room. Nearby Ibis Styles is same. |

Just make sure that you book in advance to get a reasonable rate and that you avoid big events at the nec or the rates shoot up |
