"Day/multiple day tickets for the trams! You can hop on and off without worrying then, makes getting around a lot easier. Also check out the sex museum "
Can you get the train tickets in advance? |

Have you been before?
I'd recommend giving the redlight district a cursory glance at most.
The real beauty of Amsterdam is the wealth of art and culture.
It's tricky to orientate yourself too. The best tip would be to try and work out that the canals can't be navigated like a grid system. Get a canal tour early tours to prove this.
Get a card or an app to give you discounts on the museums and galleries. The city is unsurprisingly flat. The only place to get any perspective is the roof of the Heineken factory, which in itself is no bad place.
Trip advisor yourself some restaurants, it's worth spending some wedge here.. |

No but the machines on the tram stops are dead easy to use. We went last year. Had a great time and even met a lovely dutch couple back at our hotel. The staff at the bus stop are very helpful at the airport. They need to be because it's the busiest bus stop I have ever been to in my life. You'll have a great time. The sex museum is a hoot. |

You should check out Ann Frank House, the flower market, The Old Sailor pub (opposite sex museum) and squeeze in a canal trip too if they are still operating.
If your wife is into swinging too Club Paradise is worth checking out.
Enjoy |

You can get a pre paid travel card at the airport or ferry terminal for trains and trams, you just swipe at stations as you enter and leave, do the same on trams, it works out a lot cheaper, have fun but beware of pickpockets, stoned d*unk people are easy pickings |

Yes I'm looking forward to it. Any fun with the Dutch couple? |

We do art and history and architecture etc on virtually every other trip.
When we go to Amsterdam we spend all our time in the red light district! My wife loves pole dancing, usually insists I have a lap dance, we go to sex museums and try the fairly unsexy shows and wander around looking at hot sex workers.
Fun4two is a great swingers club if you like that sort of thing. On the outskirts.
If you're after culture in Amsterdam, sorry can't advise! |

If you're flying you can buy slightly discounted train and public transport tickets from the tourist information counter just past the baggage carousel area at Amsterdam airport |

You can download an area off google maps so you don't need to be online to use it.
You can add points of interest.
Try the "Get your guide" app to pre book trips etc.
To be honest I was very underwhelmed with Anne Franks house. I understand the reasons why it is done the way it is but it felt very impersonal to me.
Try La Place for nice food and cakes.
Try stroop waffles...
We did two guided walking tours, both very good.
The candle lit canal cruise was also very good... |

Get a couple of bikes and ride to parks. Canal trips definitely
And someone mentioned the bull dog( great place) also prix dami.
Body works museum is also great. Plenty of sex stuff and shops so have a good look around. There's a glow in the dark mini golf place if you can find it(hint its in a pub)
Have yet to visit the markets. But ive heard there are many good ones.
Also find the good cocktail bars. There's so much to do in dam.
Ooh and find a volcano bong and use it! |

Casa rosso has live sex shows, always popular with couples.
Banana bar (use your imagination) is pricy but another famous sex show club.
Plenty of coffee shops (cannabis) if you're into that sort of thing. |

We preferred the museum of prostitution over the sex museum. It's located in the red light district.
If you want to do Anne Frank then book in advance as queues are huge!
The best place we went for dinner was Moon restaurant. Above it there is a sky swing and something called the a'dam lookout which has great views over the city.
We bought 3 day tram tickets on the tram. They were cheaper than the ones we bought at the airport and the trams were really easy to use.
Red light district was fun but be mindful of the pub on the corner. Drinks were overpriced and spirits watered down. Excalibur bar was really reasonable there.
