Hi all,
As a 51-year-old it is quite depressing how many ladies will set their age limit to 50, and I'm sure many aged 41 and even 31 get the same problem with round-number age cut offs.
I look a lot younger than my age and so would like to message ladies who stipulate up to age 50, but am unable to do so. I suppose there's nothing I can do?
By the same measure, I'm sure most 18 to 25 year-old ladies wouldn't be interested in me, let alone someone of 99, so please don't get our hopes up and set your profile appropriately (sorry, that is an observation and not a moan). Cheers, Nick |

i never really understand this particular gripe...as with any other preference, why would you want to meet someone who has made it explicitly clear they do not want to meet you? |

OP would you be happier if those ladies who have an age cut off at 50 change it to 48 just so it's not a round number? I'm guessing the answer to this is no because you still wouldn't be able to message them.
Most people have age preferences, even you OP. Perhaps there are dozens of 59 and 60 year old ladies who are disappointed they can't message you because your maximum age is 58  |

We regard age limitations more as a guideline. We would go outside ours in exceptional circumstances, maybe if the gentleman concerned was particularly youthful and goodlooking, or offered something that others don't. More likely to make exceptions though if we were to meet someone in a club where we can get to know someone at face value. That probably doesn't help you though, as you're more looking for the one-on-one experience. There is rather a lot of choice for single ladies in this site, so probably less need to go outside their requirements. That being said, most of the men we have met via Fab shaved a few years off their age on their profile. Not that I'm suggesting you do that!

Well, lots of people have a limit of say 45, but up it to 50, because some people look good for 45. So unless you look super-good, it aint going to work.
Go to a club. Then you will have luck depending on your personality and looks rather than your profile and age.
We've played with people in clubs and found after we were out of their age range in on their profile. |

You may think you look a lot younger than your age OP, but others will disagree. Filters are there for a reason.
As for moaning about 18-25 year olds not setting any filters up, yet not being interested in a 51 year old man. Don't message them then. Then you will avoid disappointment. |

This is true. Remember op, your own filter is at 58, only 7 years older than you.
So, if your potential meets use the same criteria the youngest you could meet is 44 yo. |

Age filters, for us they are a little inflexible but we have them set for a good reason.
We would not want to have a dalliance with someone the same age as our offspring.
Meanwhile it is a known thing that ages on adult websites have a margin of purposeful error. That's not malicious but previous experience has shown that Marge or Tom might not really be "40" etc
When we see 18 to 99 on a profile we think, ah not bothered with that section yet. We question the effort that's been put into the profile.

My age limit goes up to 55. But sometimes I turn down men that are only 46.
Imagine their disbelief.
They are a man.
Within my age range.

I very rarely find under 27's that aren't too full of themselves and busy navel gazing to actually connect with you, but my limit is set at 25 for the sake of hope. Call me an ageist. |

OP just do what most do on fab, lie about your age, sometimes the claimed ages on a profile give us the biggest laugh of the day, we have our true ages, but it's just a number.... |

We use the age range as a guide on here. As we really only meet at clubs, it then comes down to personality, charm and then looks. & as we go to dry clubs we don't go round asking guys to get their cocks out to establish whether they have one or not!
Some people look young and act old, others vice versa, it is much more dependent on whether we click when we meet at a club - whether that is singles or couples
