Been read, but not deleted

I've been here a few weeks now and I've noticed that messages I've sent have been read, but not deleted. I'm just wondering if there's a reason for that.

Does it mean they're interested in talking at some point or they've just forgotten to delete it?

Number one tip for your sanity: once you've sent the message, delete it from your sent box. Then you won't be mithering about what it means, and if you get a reply you'll be pleasantly surprised.

That sounds like a really good idea actually.

It means they're keen, send them another message.

The Fab inbox only displays the most recent 75 messages received so it could have dropped off and won't reappear until they delete newer messages. A frequent problem we have trying to find messages.

That makes a lot of sense. So say if my message is number 76, once they delete the first 75, mine will go to the top?

It could be that reason or it could be that they're already having conversations with a few people already about meets so haven't got around to replying to other messages.

Could be a whole host of reasons sadly.

I have a problem with overthinking, I really need to break that habit. Just trying to get the lay on the land, once I get it all sussed out I should be alright.

Don't block them! Don't block anyone. Unless they are crossing the line for you. You may be unknowingly mailing some big fish.. who like games.. learn to swim first

We've just replied to a guy 5 months after he first messaged us. We meant to get back to him sooner but shit just happens unfortunately and it sometimes takes longer than you think.

If a message that I send gets deleted within days or I get a 'Thanks but no thank you' reply, I leave myself a private note on here saying 'Not interested, do not contact again'.

This works for me. Many women/couples receive so many messages that any message I might send could potentially get lost amongst the masses and never actually get read.

I have re-messaged people who never opened my message many months later and then received positive replies and resultant meets.
