So I was wondering (no mentioning names or usernames of course outta respect) what issues people have had in their encounters and I'm not talking about the minor everyday things like the guy not getting hard or the lady not letting you go down on her. I've not personally had anything happen yet with a woman 1 on 1 but I guess I let this anxiety stop me (along with other reasons) from considering things like meeting MF couples.

We've made three mistakes whilst finding our feet with swinging.

First. Early on we bumped into a couple and got on like a wild fire. However, they couldn't play at that time and were just about to go on holiday for a month. In that month we had some not so good experiences with other swingers and got cold feet about what we'd said we'd do with this couple when they got back. As such, when they returned we asked if we could have another social to get on the same page and they blew a wobbly. In the end it was probably a close shave. But in hindsight they've so far proven to be the only couple who were really on our wavelength. So it was a shame it ended so badly.

Second. We tried lots of different approaches to swinging over our first year on here and changed our profile a lot to reflect those changes. The only time we came a cropper from this was when a rather nice looking couple messaged us due to our profile just as we decided to do a completely new approach. This led to a really awkward telephone call which I (mr) completely bolloxed up by trying to explain everything and made us sound as complicated as quantative easing. Of course it put them right off us.

Third. I thought it'd be a good idea to take Mrs on a swinging holiday to Gran Canaria. It was such a dire experience that it almost put us both off it. Indeed, we're now taking a break from swinging and that holiday is one of the key reasons why.

Don't feel too bad about it. The first experience, if they weren't willing to meet you for another social, then perhaps they weren't for you after all. The second experience, we've all made the same mistake by overwhelming people with information. The third experience, good idea to take a step back and reassess your position.

Thanks for the kind words These mistakes aren't indicative of our experience on here. So don't worry we're very philosophical about them. And I agree with your points. But I liked the op's idea for a thread so thought I'd offer up our little nuggets of error to see if it gets the ball rolling

We had a few weird experiences at the beginning. All were 1 - 1 couple meets. Our very first was a lunchtime meal. She was a lovely lady who we'd have loved to have had the opportunity to get to know, but he was socially aggressive, especially about politics, Marks job (which the guy knew nothing about) and the world in general. He got agitated every time we tried to involve her in the conversation and had to be the loudest voice in the room. We were confused as to what to think after and we're pretty bewildered as to what to do next, but thankfully we all get more experienced as time goes on. Another experience was really bizarre. We met a couple in a cafe one afternoon and got on with them like a house on fire - so much so that we agreed our next meet would be a weekend at their place on the coast. Immediately we arrived the male of the couple was a totally different person to the funny, relaxed, engaging guy we'd met previously and announced he'd been saying all week how much he'd been looking forward to seeing Ellen - which we thought rather insulting to his wife, not to mention embarrassing in front of her. He then proceeded to try to constantly 'drive' the day, including a session of him playing hymns on the piano and announcing that he'd been a defrocked minister previously. After he'd asked for around the fifth or sixth time when the ladies were going to get changed ready to play his wife started scolding him for his pushiness. Although we wished we'd left thereally and then afterwards we stayed and play did eventually begin - and ended abruptly a few minutes later when he announced he'd had an 'accident' due to being overexcited. Was an entertaining journey home soon afterwards. Live and learn though - we have all of our first meets at clubs and generally just attend clubs where we go with an open mind.

You couldn't make this stuff up In a way we enjoy the weird stuff almost as much as the good stuff. It certainly makes us giggle from time to time.

Thought you'd like that bit! Lol! It was like being in a live sitcom! Normally wouldn't laugh at others misfortune - we're both normally very much looking to find the best in people - but when he came in his pants it caused a few giggles for us on the journey home.
