Hi, I don't think it'll bother most people, and the ones it does bother, well they are not worth worrying about

Just wanted to mention that you can buy a shampoo called nizoral, although it's a shampoo, it actually works amazingly at clearing up acne in your back, it may take a couple of weeks but if you try and use it everyday, it will help, then just use it daily to keep it at bay

I used to really suffer with this. It's terrible for your confidence. Unfortunately for you i have only found one cure.

Same , I suffered with it for years and years and all the medications from the doctor didn't really work

Roacutane works 100% only a dermatologist can prescribe it so either get referred by your doctor or you can buy it online but it will totally sort it out and in 90% if cases it never returns

Alternatively check out body building forums for their cures as it's prevalent with roid users and they have some pretty decent solutions too

I know somebody else who suffers from this and it dents their confidence so much. The thing is, I have yet to meet guy who has perfect skin. We are all human and whilst you might think a woman is judging you, she's probably too busy worrying about her own issues. Having said that, if it's really bad then I understand why you feel so self conscious. Duac cream does help but be warned that it stains all of your bedding like you've tipped bleach all over it. x

A few steroid users suffer from it as a side effect. Always saw accutane mentioned but that comes with its own sides

Think its prescription only aswell

Durham Tees

I think I read somewhere that natural fabrics are better for the skin. So wear 100% cotton rather than cotton polyester mix and avoid all polyester and similar.

Roacutaine should only be considered as a very last option. The side effects are awful, it can ruin your liver and bring on suicidal feelings.

....

Sometimes over washing can cause skin problems too, especially when using shower gels.

Skip the doctor if you plan on going seeking advice, and go straight to a dermatologist.

I'd recommend trying some tlc first though, as it's cheaper. Avoid using soap on your back. After washing give your back a good scrub with a dry skin brush, and then apply a good moisturiser. If you see no major change after a few weeks and you're still worried, then seek professional advice.

That's very true. Accutane should only be used as a last resort but as you said you've tried the others then give it ago.

Also if you've got a hairy back then shaving it helps and also sunbeds help.

It can be caused my a change in hormones when taking steroids and if untreated can scar like my friends has

If it was from steroids I wouldn't mind cos I would know what's causing them, I use tea tree shower gel from body shop £7 a bottle cos it's supposed to be the best use a really good loofah to remove dead skin but alas nothing seems to work

For me tea tree made it worse

There's a lot of bodybuilders that swear by a certain brand of dishwasher liquid

Like I said check their forums but in all honesty I'd go to your docs and ask for a referral to the dermatologist , if you've already tried all the creams and pills the doctors can prescribe they'll refer you straight away

Accurate can be bought online , but why buy it when you can get prescribed it on the NHS

Be warned waiting times for dermatologists are loooooooooong

Good luck and if you find something that works for you let me know

Large does of vitamin A. Acne is as a result of vitamin A deficiency. Your skins collagen does work as fast as others. Also retinol cream.

Large does of vitamin A is 800ug a day. Seriously look into it. I use to suffer.....

Now I don't, at all. Will take 6 months to get into your system but it is a cure. So like 4-6 tablets a day then after 6 months just one a day, forever

I (Miss N) suffer badly with acne on my face as well as parts of my body.

I was Roaccutaine for almost a year a few years ago....my cholesterol went through the roof although I was on a low fat diet, I had to have a blood test and pregnancy test every 4 weeks. My liver did recover but took 3-4 months after my last dose to recover. This is definitely a last resort and the docs make it hard to get to see the dermatologist.

I do still get severe breakouts on my face now and all the creams don't work for me at all. Has left me with a few scars and has dented my confidence which I am not sure will ever fully recover. When I have a breakout I don't want to go out let alone play with someone else as I feel disgusting and am almost certain the other person will too.

I hope you do find some solace and get some answers.

I found Aveeno moisturisers good to keep skin well mositurised.
