I dunno, a not very funny comedy of errors.

I dunno, I dunno what the etiquette is for this one. So,I arranged a meet this morning with another young man. Come to my house, I'll provide some booze, you be sexy, sort of thing. Fine, he seemed cute, obviously thought i was too. Now, my house is about twenty minutes drive from the city centre. He asked if he could bring a friend, who was relying on for a lift I guess. I said sure, the more the merrier. I gave him the adress. Exact adress. Sometime later I get this real cranky phonecall, going where the fuck are you you're joking me and all of this. He couldn't find my place, fine. Turns out he was right around the corner. But anyways, called him back up, and he's spitting livid by this point, I said right well where are you, stay there, I'll come get you. At this precise moment my phone runs out of battery, and just refuses to be the fuck on. So I go out to where he said he was... he's not there. I walked back home again (maybe a three minute walk)to message him here, reiterate the address, got an earful of cranky bullshit (like honestly, he could have asked anybody where that address was and they would've said, it's right over there)And said, fuck it, imma come out and get you (again)at a landmark, which he said he was at, his lift having called him a jackass and sped off into the sunset. But I go down to where he said he was, but he's not there. Nowhere to be seen. I looked high, I searched low. Nothin'. So I walk back home, getting to my computer being the best chance at making contact at this point. Not surprising, there's a stream of messages calling me all the motherfuckers under the sun. He'd been so close to the house it's pretty funny, but when they didn't know what way to go, after travelling for an hour or so, rather than ask someone where this place is, they decided to flip the fuck out, both of 'em. Now the guy with the car has kicked my beauty out and intends to strand him there. This happens while I'm out where he said he'd meet me.A massive fuckaround of a meet arrangement, for sure, pain in the hole and didn't even get laid. But now this man is sending me these real dark messages about how i fucked with the wrong guy and he's gonna break my face and like I'll be wished I'd stepped on a crack that broke my momma's back and all this shit. But... I mean I sent so many apologies but he doesn't wanna hear it, I'm the devil, but the long and short of it is that this simple fuck couldn't find the address described in the address, and is now murderously furious with me. I don't think I'll be able to blow it over. I dunno, i've started responding to his, what are now unabashed death threats, with mockery. Like I should be worried that he knows where I live, but there's no need to worry. I dunno. Maybe I'm a terrible asshole, but what i see here is this guy failed to make his way to an address, flipped the fuck out, and is now threatening to murder me because he's too big of a dumb cunt to stop and ask before going nuts. Just wondering if there was ettiquette for this. I don't know whether to hide from this man or hit him in the face with a mallet?

He sounds like an absolute weirdo, stupid too.

Maybe accommodating isn't such a good idea but lots of members here think it's odd if we don't accommodate?

Sounds like a fake and most probably never turned up in the first place. But if he did it sounds like you had a lucky escape personally it sounds to me like he is just fucking with your head.

Block block block!! If he couldn't find you in the first place then it's doubtful he'll come knocking on your door for a fight keep hold of the mallet though unless a bit of face tenderising is required . I'd guess all mouth though, most people are.

Yes it sounds like he never turned up to me, just a nasty piss take.

I would just put it down to experience OP, so he may have your address, might be worth pointing out to him he is easily traceable by the police. Sending threatening messages is a criminal offence and he could get in the Shit for sending them if you reported him.

This!

OP report abusive mail to Admin. They'll sort it. Be glad he didn't show up. He sounds insane.

Would send him a message pretending it was all a joke just to reinforce to him the idea you don't actually live where you live and block him. Then have a glass of wine and congratulate yourself on a great escape.

Keep looking over your shoulder OP. On a serious note if this was me and some nutcase had my address I would be very worried! He could always come back and ask someone nearby where your address is.

Report his messages.

Think about this logically. You went to look for him in two places and he wasn't there. Its highly probable that he was never there, there was no mate giving him a lift and he never left his house.

Keep his messages in case you need to take them to the police.

Ach, I mean, he's young I suppose. On the other hand, this is why my gf warns me off anybody under 26. And I always say no, love, that's not fair, lots of young people are proper people. Then you fuck with some 22 year olds and it's like, damn, these guys are a pain in the ass.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Seems to me he was a timewaster who was trying to pre-empt getting kicked of the site for a no-show by blaming you.

With Sat Nav apps available for phones etc, there should be no excuse for not being able to find you.

Question, when he was sending these abusive messages, did you think to click on his profile to see if he was showing up as being nearby?

That usually catches them out

I'm sat here reading this thinking.... I don't think he had any intention of turning up and sounds like a weird mother hubbard!!

Anyone can look on Google maps and zoom in at " landmarks ".

My advice learn from it and in future arrange to meet somewhere near you, and then you can go to your place.

Don't give your address out just like that as unfortunately not everyone is as trusting as you xx

Hm. I'm working on the assumption that my address is of no use to him. I think it's ok... the last thing he said to me was that he told everyone what I am and everybody on fab hates me :p He doesn't have any friends here. I said I don't care about fab, you boy. That exchange saps a lot of the menace out of the situation for me. Ya never know though, kids be crazy. I was pretty unpredictable at his age.

I did not think of that. I dunno. Are people that worried about lookin' like a jerk? Like, if he didn't show, that'd be less hassel than I got, don't think I'de pursue the issue either. File under meh, I suppose. I don't really but that he just made it all up either... that's too weird of a crazy plan to be true. People do attempt really weird plans and all, but the sociopath whisperer isn't tickled. Meh, fuck it. I will carry the mallet for a while, though.

That was a very messy and clumsy attempt at making sentences.Bad me. Oh yeah, he thought he was some hacker wunderkind as well when he google image searched one of my photos and came up with my name. Because I used the same photo on public and private forums. Because I don't care, because being exposed is in no way a threat to my livelyhood. So he was all like ta-dow got your name be careful who you're fuckin with! And I was like, yeah, cuz I haven't hidden it in any way, what do intend to do with this amazing info? no one gives a fuck. I'm ranting now. Damn, I think I hate this kid :/

Sounds like a lunatic

That is why we never meet in our home; we don't even meet in anyone else's home or even in a hotel room. Clubs are best as one can simply walk away from these sort of people. We have seen enough aggressive little twats on forums to be aware

Report the messages to Admin and don't give strangers you address

I would email/text him and say you have/will report him to the police under the Malicious communciations act and will provide them with his phone number and fab profile and that you are happy pressing charges. That usually shuts people up if they think you are serious.

"Exactly the reason we don't accommodate. It's just too risky unless you know and trust the people concerned. Even then it can backfire badly..."

I don't wanna lose that trust in people though. People improve when they're expected to be better. I think treating every stranger like a bonafide rapist is counterproductive, that attitude would destroy this scene and the adjacent, let's call 'em sister scenes. I really think that the ability to hold out an open hand or an unenclosed bosom to a complete stranger is a large part of what makes this scene tick. Concensus rules though as well, if someone has an established reputation for being a piece of shit, you can't assume they're nice. But you can't just work with what you hear either, that kid from today has been runnin' around telling people I'm a massive wallet thief. I'm not, by the way. But it's hard to fuck with an established reputation. Excuse me, just thinking aloud.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

In a world with Google maps app I find it very odd anyone with a working phone with a signal would get lost.

TLDR: he was lying and he's a bit weird.

I reckon 95% of people are trustworthy. The more often you invite someone to your home that you hooked up with on the net the more likely you are to encounter the 5%. It's a risk we all take to be fair. We encountered some genuine weirdness at someone else's home

if you've come susceptible to one person like this though i'd take a step back and consider why. otherwise you might find it happening again.

although it's probably not actually your fault apart from you trusted them.

Thanks for the supportive messages y'all. Yeah we did swap face pics, and yeah, mine are out there in the open. A clumsy move by a few people's standards, but my face on the interweb is not something that's gonna bring me to ruin. I'm a little less wigged out than I was earlier... chances are the guy's just a nincompoop. If he is a real thing operating in the world... without wanting to come off as an aggressive creep, if he comes near me I'll bash him. I've screenshotted our whole correspondance just in case. Always get facepics, people. And men, when your wives or girlfriends are telling you to don't stick your dick in crazy and be wary of those who are too young for you, they're not trying to spoil your shit, they're doing you a solid.
