Hi. I don't feel comfortable putting my face picture up on this site, especially not when it stamps the website address across the bottom. For that reason I keep it in my Google email account and can link to it from there.
The question is, if I sent this link to you would you even bother opening it?! |

Nope
Plus I don't understand why you take offence at the site watermark ..,
Surely the person you send it to would benefit from the fact that it's genuine |

just have the face pic set to private and attach to mails.
no one in their right mind will open a link and think you are phishing.
have no face pic, they will think you are phishing.
Do you like phishing?, as i seriously doubt you will get a bite without the face pic, watermark or not. |

Nope.
Not a chance in hell we entertain people who want to talk and or pic swap off-site.
No face pic swap through fab = no meet - no exceptions |

Thanks for your replies. Of course I'm not looking to phish or anything like that, and I totally understand that other people would not want to click on links.
The thing is that there is a possibility that Fab gets hacked in the future, in which case there may be a lot of pictures out there in public with the watermarking text on them. I'm not really cool with that either and would rather avoid it if possible.
Watermarking doesn't prove anything apart from that a picture has been uploaded, so I'm not sure I understand why that is the policy here. (Do private pics get watermarked?) |

Why not have it on your profile as private so only you can see it and if you want to send it to someone you can and also click auto remove after view. In doing it this way you can first vet who you send it to. |

Tip:
Use face pics that you would also share on social media. We like to use ones from the "pro" photographer at (vanilla) nightclubs. (good camera, well lit, and you tend to be scrubbed up well!). BUT if the pics ever got leaked, we could just say they must have been stolen off Facebook.
Also: avoid having your face in any nude pics. Keep them separate. |

Photos that you send in messages don't have the fab site address on them. That's only shown when you view them in galleries.
We only have one face pic on the site and that's set to private so we can send it. We delete it from the message shortly after its been viewed.
We don't have any photos with our faces and nude bits on show in the same photo in case they do get leaked. Identifying marks and tattoos have been airbrushed out for the same reason.
We wouldn't open a link from a stranger for the reasons others have mentioned. Also, I think I'm right in saying fab doesn't allow links to be sent in messages? |

No face pic, no chat, no meet, end of.
I get that folk want to keep their private lives private, just put it in "friends only" and you're good. No face pics available always makes me suspicious. |

I understand the OP.
I'm still figuring this out myself .
What would attitudes be to adding me on Skype and saying hello face to face there ?
Surely that's a much stronger proof of truth than a face pic which could have come from anywhere ? |

It's a lot of faff to see someone's face. It usually works like this: message sent with face pic. Check profile and a. delete message or b. open message.
Then it's either delete or reply. |

Sure but everybody has to start somewhere . And everyone has different comfort zones or boundaries .I'd be satisfied with a Skype call . |

I'm very patient. Personally I wouldn't be pushy if a girl might like to be discreet i.e not wish to immortalize a watermarked pic of herself on the internet and use Skype instead.
However thanks for the advice about the general culture on site . I had naively assumed verification was the main hurdle. The thing about sending a Face pic though is it can still be fake unlike Skype. I suppose that's where you should ensure whoever you're communicating with has a lot of positive verification . However as someone new I'm learning the pitfalls |

"Sounds to me this op is playing away big turn off"
He could be but also he doesn't have to be.
He could be a teacher for example . Send his pic to one unstable person or someone he ends up rejecting and his pic might end up famous among his pupils or known among conservative parents agitating against his promotion and for his sacking . Cue years of judgemental nicknames at best.
Like I said I can see a valid point . And my suggestion to him is if he won't message his face - then Skype is the next best thing (I'd think it is actually the better thing but that's just my opinion ) |

If you're that bothered about showing a face pic I would question whether this is really the right website to be on.
This is fabswingers NOT blind date.
The majority of people on here need some degree of discretion, be it because of their work or other reasons. There is no reason why you can't keep your face pic private and just send it in a message. The fab watermark isn't on it that way. The face pic could have come from anywhere - nobody can prove it was here. Also, if someone was to "out" you as being on here they would have to admit to being here too. They could have as much to lose as you do.
Single men find it difficult enough on fab. If you won't share a face pic you might as well just cut your cock off because it definitely won't be seeing any action |

No I wouldn't bother with it, it would be onto my block list for you I,m afraid OP.
As previous posters have stated just add a photo and set it to private. If you are a site supporter you can even set it to be deleted once message has been read x |

Answer to the original question - yes, if our previous messages were appropriately engaging and you seemed to match what we're looking for. Seriously an extra minute to look at a linked pic wouldn't put us off if we were already considering meeting. We totally get that some people are concerned about privacy, and it doesn't turn us off at all to have someone who is careful about such things. Looks like we're in the minority here though! |

I imagine 90% of the site feel exactly the same but most people accept there has to be a degree of trust and reciprocity. As Dirty130 says use a pic that could have been lifted from social media, don't have explicit pics with identifying features and then it's pretty deniable. I wouldn't be up for getting a face pic that way and if you suggested Skype I'd probably just block you, we've had virtually nothing but bad experiences with Skype. |

I didn't mind paying 5 pounds or whatever that is in Euros which was advertised . So I clicked on the button next to the 5 just now with my PayPal at the ready . Low and behold ..suddenly multiples of that figure are the actual price . I don't like to rush into unclear transactions so ill hold off for a while . Shame really . |

It's not complicated, because of admin fees you can't use certain ways of paying for the £5 fee. £5 is for 50 days as a silver member, if you use Paypal the cheapest is £20 which gives you 4 lots of 50 days plus an extra 24 days free. If you only want the £5 / 50 day deal use on of the other options that allow it. |

Personally, if a woman had no face pics, and suggested a Skype call, I would delete and block straight away as my suspicion levels would go sky high. I would take it as she had something to hide and was being dishonest.
As said above, this is a sex site, not Blind Date. |

Fab has rules about external weblinks
I'm guessing that you haven't actually sent any messages linking to your pictures yet as you will have found that you will be unable to do so.
When clicking on 'send' after composing your message, the site checks your message for certain words etc and any weblinks will get picked up on and your message will not be sent, and you will be presented with a warning message on your screen.
Time to think again about this. |

Sending a link to a face pic on the web is OK with me and I would check it. Asking for an email address/Kik/skype/phone no or any other alternative way of communication in order to send a pic is not OK, it is a great inconvenience. Overall though paranoia doesn't make for a good seduction technique |

This.
If you use a totally innocent face pic, then should it find its way into the public domain then you can always say they must have pinched it from Facebook, Twitter etc. |

"What's phishing "
Have you ever had an email from a bank telling you of suspicious activity on your account, please click the link and enter your personal details. But you bank with Barclays and this email if from Lloyds where you have never had an account.
Phishing is an attempt to get personal info so they can get into your bank acc or paypal etc. |

If you can't be bothered to upload a face pic ... then why should I bother replying .... regardless how secure the site is... and whether it be Facebook, twitter, Snapchat ... once you upload anything onto the web it becomes public domain ... but I really can't understand these folk that want to meet yet ... don't upload face pics (which can be done privately) .... yet want you to jump through hoops to see them ... for me it's here ... or Kik .... you ain't got a face pic with either option then I wouldn't be interested in talking it any further anyways. That's just how I do it of course ... but each to their own so to speak ... |
