I honestly think I'm having a mid life crisis of sorts. My attitude to life has changed massively and I'm being more selfish. That's because I've always given everything to everyone else and left nothing for me.

What I would say OP is that as long as your not hurting someone/ people go for it. I guess being on fab is questionable for both of us?

All I'd say is be careful. The grass is always greener than it actually is on the other side and when you get there you'll just get a new set of problems.

All the best and hope you get topside of this feeling soon.

It's easy when you feel you're making all the effort to blame those around you.

Have a good look in the mirror and ask if your giving enough out to get what you need back.

This might be love, respect, understanding....

Hope you do the right thing for you, whatever that is.

Best advice, simply be rigourously honest with both yourself and those around you. Once you've worked out what the problem/s is/are though. Good luck and be kind to yourself.

I feel the exact same!! I feel like I've been stuck in a rut for years!!

I had my son at 19 years of age, don't get me wrong he is the singular best thing that has ever happened to me. He was also the making of me. I if I'm honest was a bit of a twat when I was younger, but after I had him I was determined to make a life for us.

I now have the big house in the countryside, expensive car. Motorbikes all the toys really. But I find myself questioning what's it all been for!!!

I've spent my entire life working all the hours I can and the rest of my time running around after him. Honestly I think I have gotten to the point where I have forgotten who I am and what I want in life. He is now 16 and is starting his GCSE's and really has grown up. He's a grate lad and my finest achievement!!

My point is life changes, sometimes you have to take a long look at yourself and reevaluate how you treat yourself and those around you.

One step at a time. Stop doing something you don't enjoy and try something new. If you like it keep it up if not try something else.

I also think people put too much emphasis on the word happy!!

If you asked most people if they are truly happy with every part of their life, they would be lying if they said yes.

I think the real question is are you content with life? If you are then maybe we should learn to be happy with being content with life.

Smile. Their is all always someone worse off than you

Is it not you or your life but an emotional issue, potentially unrelated to age?

We all benefit from looking after ourselves, our wellbeing, including our mental and physical health. Just taking steps to address this may give you what you are needing or at least put you in a stronger position to face life and manage it with greater sensitivity to what you're really needing in the future.

I started trannying. I figured it was cheaper than a Porsche and safer than a motorbike. Probably more fun than either, too.

I flounced out of a few closets. Upset a few people who had previously felt entitled to control my life. Found out who my real friends were. Made new ones in greater quantity and of better quality than the ones I lost. It's been brilliant.

I think I would call it re-evaluating your life... could happen at any age.

The important thing is that you are happy with the changes you make rather than trying to please others.

I think sometimes a big change can trigger this, divorce or a death in the family or losing your job, makes you want to think about the future... theres nothing wrong with that.

I have a completely different life to the one I led 2 years ago, and I am very happy, so it can happen...

I don't regret any changes I made. Looking forward not back.

Change is often good. Just make sure you know the boundaries of such thing and that people around you know your intentions. Sometimes turning the page helps even if it's not the easiest thing to do. Best of luck

A mid life crisis is when someone who doesn't think about the brevity and value of their life signs themselves up for a whole pile of meaningless crap then, in a moment of clarity, suddenly realise what an idiot they've been.

On the plus side I've never forgotten how important it is to follow my truth in this short life. On the downside it's kinda made my whole life into a mid life crisis lol

Actually the things that piss me off are very factual. The creative arts have legitimately gone down the shitter, pop culture is gay as fuck and you can't even say gay anymore without triggering some twat because they keep redefining words to make sure someone is offended by them. It's not a mid life crisis, this decade just sucks ass.

I'll give you 5 good reasons to love this decade...

1) Neil Diamond

2) Bob Dylan

3) The Rolling Stones

4) Lionel Richie

5) Vera Lynn

Still... look on the bright side... the shittest musac that played in hotel foyers in the 80s is now the summation of what little counter culture this country has left in it

It's not just music. You can objectively see that proportion of the most successful films that are sequels, prequels and remakes have dramatically increased (i.e. Hollywood has run out of ideas). Contemporary art is an oxymoron. There's a good book every now and then but it's the 50 shades of shite stuff that appeals to the great unwashed. Their thirst for reality TV and facebook likes is driving us down the pan.

Well let's continue then. Politicians have always beeing lying sacks of crap, nothing has changed there. But the voter turnout has steadily declined since world war two so now they can get away with a lot more. IQ is a difficult thing to measure but there's no disputing that average IQ has declined in the past 20 years, the only debate is whether it had actually been declining longer but the decline was masked by rising health standards.

In conclusion, it's not a mid-life crisis. Things are objectively geyting shittier at the moment. I am not a cynic, this kind of thing goes in cycles and I'm sure there will be decades of improvement in the future too. But currently the mainstream culture is dumb, lazy and boring.
