I had a lady look and wink at me. She'd not long been on the site and I made a quip that I might know her already. Next thing, when I go back to try and find her, she's gone without trace. Advice please or pm me.
Cheers. |

Sounds like she's reported you to admin. They can permanently block both of you from any contact and you won't see their profile at all, not even in search. XXX |

Thanks to Miss Adveture for her advice, the most sensible so far. Was not aware that blocking could work in such a way. Can only conclude she went straight to admin. It's going to be an interesting training session tomorrow if we're put together! |

why? because you're going to make her as uncomfortable in real life as you clearly did on here? |

No people cannot disappear, but Tom Cruise can walk through walls and levitate if that clears things up. |

Here's an idea OP.
You make no reference to it, no knowing winks or smiles. She's clearly uncomfortable with the fact that someone may know her. Why would you make that worse? |

Now if someone said that to me, I would find it a very creepy statement to make. It actually sounds more like a threat than a friendly statement, next time I think you need to rethink how you approach people on here |

And if she's still here and reads the forum you've compounded the mistake. Women find it very intimidating when a guy hints that he knows them. |

"People don't read. I said I wanted an end to this, no embarrassment, no nothing. Why did I bother posting this if all folk can do is castigate and criticise."
And what exactly have people posted that has not come directly quoted from your original post? |

Seriously Op, did you not think before hand that telling her that you might know her would possibly make her uncomfortable? I'm not having a pop, just asking as I would never even consider telling someone that even if I was adamant that I knew the person, male or female!

Advice?
It's simple. Move on, forget about this woman, and don't start a thread about it... |

Make sure you are not put together, best not make the poor woman uncomfortable. Especially if it is a work situation. |

think the OP is getting a hard time a bit unfairly here. Yes some people don't like it when someone else knows them already. And yes I guess it depends how the OP put it to her. But why wouldn't he tell her? Was he supposed to pretend he didn't know her until further down the line? Honesty still counts for something surely... |

Mr T "
I guess that makes sense if you have a policy of not meeting people you know outside of fab. But not everyone has a problem with it, so in that case if you still hope to meet surely you have to tell them you think you know them? Though of course then they may block you and disappear. As it seems has happened in the OP's case. I can't see why it would be a matter for admin though unless some kind of threat was made |

Because if someone does creepy stuff and asks for advice that's what will happen |
