Stolen Photo's
Jump to: Newest in thread
Sure this might has been brought up or asked before. Is the site working on a way so that no one can download or take mobile screenshots of our photo's. Just came across a profile of a couple that's using my photos. I've reported them to the admin. This isn't the first time I've came across this. |

Happened to us, but couple took them down before admins reacted to our issue, so couldn't act on it.
Our own fault because we messaged to account concerned before reporting so they knew they had been found out. |

From the FAQs:
"Why don't you right-click protect our photos to stop others stealing / saving them?
We believe in being straighforward with the members of Fab. Right click protect doesn't work and gives a false sense of security by pretending to "protect" images. Other sites may pretend they've protected your images but actually they're being dishonest by claiming that.
Right click "protect" can be gotten around in under 2 seconds by any of the following methods:
Simplest: Goto File menu, Save As, and save to desktop = The photos will be in a folder on your desktop that your browser has created.
OR... Disable JavaScript by going to Tools menu, choose Internet Options, Click the Security tab, click Custom Level, scroll to the "Scripting" section of the list and click Disable. Right click can now be used to save images.
OR... Press print screen and the image + page will be copied to clipboard where it can be pasted into a graphics program for resize or save.
We give you three privacy options on your photos and we now hide images from anyone who isn't a member of Fab. If you are worried about someone stealing your photos you may want to set them to be viewable only by your friends, or private in which case you can send by private mail.
We also now watermark all photos upon upload."

I watermark my name onto my images just to make it difficult for others to mask out. My stolen pic was cropped to eliminate to site watermark. |

This happens all the time primarily by fake accounts set up to scam images that you freely send to people.
There's a huge fuss about it in the US and Canada now. Because people freely send them and the other party by extension seems to be able to freely use it.
There's no limitation or prescription on it or something. Am talking face pics here.
This site is rife with fake pics and profiles and yes I've been scammed on it too...
Interesting thing to try is just reverse image search and you'll know if it's blag.
You'll also get a surprise on how many fakes there are!

No, it's impossible. There is only one solution -if you don't want your photos misused; don't put them on the internet. |

"Happened lots of times to us, it has always been fellow fabbers that alert us to it.
No idea why they do it. The mind boggles.
Eve x"
I can think of two very good looking reasons why people are stealing your pictures.
So yeah it's your own fault for both being so damn handsome! |

"Mine were stolen and put on xhamster. Beat that!...
Was not good, I can tell you "
I was videoed in chat once and it was put on Xhamster a few years ago and took 24 hours to get it removed. It did get over 10,000 likes though in that time which I found amusing. I don't cam anymore as you don't know where it could end up. |

What happens when they meet and they clearly don't look like us though? Then what? They hope the the people they have tricked are horny enough to give them a shag anyway?
People are strange...

The buggers!
Don't think anyone has stolen mine.
Looking at a few of the forum members who have posted above I can see why theirs would be though. (Tempted myself).
OP watermark your photos. It has to be big though. Big enough that if it was cropped out it would ruin the photo.

Unfortunately fab cant do anything about the ability of devises taking screen shots, but i know that suspected stolen photos and ones taken off other parts of the internet are checked out, and if any do get through they are removed very quickly by the mods and profile suspended once reported to mods |

Many folks don't know how the internet works.
Simply, the web page put up by whomever is just a set of files.
The web browser is not a browser, it pulls the files down from the server and renders them locally.
That is every word, every picture, every png, every jpg, in fact everything is downloaded onto your machine and drawn/displayed locally.
That is every picture you have ever looked at is somewhere on your PC/phone unless history is wiped.
Hence there is no mechanism to prevent them being downloaded, as they are downloaded to be displayed anyway. |

its not uncommon for a decent sexy pic to get stolen and posted all over the place ..best not to put it online if you want to keep it private |

Happened to me a few times. I now only have photos public that I am not bothered about being in the public domain, so sort of expect them to get knicked. Tho they did knock 12 years off my age which was a bonus |

I think you mean it is impossible to stop people copying your photos.

A picture of my bum was stolen and used for a spanking anthology sold via a well-known online store. I thought it was quite funny at the time, and was quite flattered. The item was reported to the retailer by one of the authors, as the content was pirated also. Eventually it was removed, although traces of it could still be found on the US version of the site last time I checked. |
