If you're phone has Google Maps, please be aware that if you go to the timeline it will show with reasonable accuracy wherever the phone has been and for how long for any day since Google switched it on last year. Just go to Google maps and click on the hamburger and in the drop down box timeline. Its scary if you have been somewhere that you weren't supposed to be |

I used that last week to prove that someone had been caught speeding!
She said she didn't think it was her, I asked for her timeline, she accepted it
But... It is editable, as in deleting places, although the map still shows a route, it doesn't show an address in the list.
Of course, a way round it is to drive to a place you're likely to be, like a pub, turn of location services on your phone, go naughty, but remember to come back via the pub an switch ls back on.
Just looks like you've been down the pub a long time |

You can turn off the location setting on your phone before heading out? Of course if your also using your phone for gps ypu will then get lost making said journey entirely innocent and oh pointless! |

There are plenty of apps that record where you've been.
Google is probably the best at it though, even if you don't have maps, google+ also records location data.
You can disable and purge the data in settings but you need to do this in all Google apps to be certain it won't bring up location data from one of its other services such as news and weather. |

It also logs all searches you make too if you then view it on the map. You can change the settings so it doesn't track your location but you have to manually remove searches |

I just checked mine and it was quite odd...
It has the wrong home address for this morning but the right one now. Got my work address right one out of three times. But strangest of all. .. It thinks I travelled through several buildings by wheelchair
I'm not too worried about it with that level of accuracy

If you use Gmail, Google also picks up appointments, hotel bookings etc and adds them to Google Maps, it's strange how people can go missing when smartphones and Google track so much of what we do. |
