I've always considered it odd that if you are hidden the whose near function is disabled with a "We don't think its fair etc" message & yet all the normal searches work.
Seems a bit pointless as you can cut the distance down to five miles on a normal search, how near do you want it!

No I don't agree, I hide my profile when I am unable to meet. For instance when I have my period or during school holidays.
Although I don't generally message members whilst I am hidden, unless it's something they have asked for advice for in the forum or we are already chatting.

"But they might be looking for people and not want to be swamped with mail.
Send all the hiddens our way. We might find a diamond."
How would you find a diamond you cannot look at them that's the point lol |

I think if there hidden and they message you then there profile shouldn't be hidden from the ones they've messaged. how ever if people hid there profile when not meeting or just to use the forums then really it wouldn't make a difference if while there hidden pms was disabled. But personally if someone messages us from a hidden profile we just delete there message if there genuinely looking to chat/meet they will message when there not hidden. |

Why would you want to send photos to someone you haven't seen there profile, they may be the complete opposite to what you are looking for |

We would block hidden profiles that send messages as we can't see if they are what we are looking for, also currently blocking people asking for solo meets with female half and the ones that have clearly not read our profile where it states that, fyi, it's her choice! |

Are yes sorry I miss read that! But I still think it's strange that someone would be looking at others and messaging people when there profile is hidden just makes me think what do they have to hide |

(Mrs)
We don't have any problems with hidden profiles since a unicorn messaged us and asked if we'd like to meet up, she'd hidden her profile as when she'd joined she'd received over 5000 messages in less than 12 hours. We thought it was a windup but it was a genuine woman and we had the most amazing time, something we weren't particularly looking for. She's a regular meet now. So our advice is never discount anything and be open to everyone |

"Would be good if message filters allowed you to block members who choose to hide their profile, while it's hidden. Only seems fair "
Why so? It's their membership and right too. What matters on the Forum topic is the discussion and not what the poster looks like or wants.
Block as much as you like as am often in lurking mode, such as during school holidays, work trips or my own holidays. Works for me as my friends then know I am away. |

An easy one to get round - unhide send message hide again same as people do with the photo filter
Equally I've sent a message before hid profile the next day to deal with my own so maybe they've done the same. |
