We currently go to clubs but where we live, we could feasibly hold a social or more. Any advice on the best way of doing this, rules etc.. and pros / cons.

I wouldn't recommend holding a social at your own home unless you already know everyone who will be attending. Hosting people you already know is one thing, giving your address to strangers is something else entirely. If you want to hold a social you're better off doing it in a pub, especially if you can boo a function room for privacy.

If you know single women and couples, from the club's, establish those first.

Then invite double the amount of single guys that you want.

Create a lovely sexy atmosphere in the house, lighting etc. A buffet and soft drinks, we used to get pizzas delivered at 11.00pm.

Good music, bins, wipes and condoms in the play rooms.

Security guy, is always good, to open the door, welcome guests, and keep an eye out. Somewhere to lock valuables away.

But of course you may be looking for something smaller and intimate. Where you wouldn't need half that advice lol.

We held 3, 2 were great, 1 was over run with single guys, so not so great. It can be very hit and miss, re: who turns up. But it's very exciting, and I miss organising them.
