Wiki suggests the closest airports are Béziers-Cap d'Agde en Languedoc, with direct budget airline services to the UK and Scandinavia, or Montpellier-Fréjorgues. Public transport (taxi or bus) is available between Agde and Cap d'Agde.
Going for the weekend probably depends on your definition of weekend and how close or otherwise you are to a UK airport which has a service to the above.
The other issue might be finding accommodation. Most of the mainstream letting companies look for a minimum of 7 days especially in high season - even though they show the costs per night. |

See the link is great, aside from it being in French but there is no way to find flight etc, nice place though "
could always choose the "english" page |

For accommodation look at:-
http://www.cap-nat.com/en/On-line-reservation.html
As has already been said most rentals tend to be for 7 nights saturday to Saturday.
As for whether it is swinger friendly:-
http://www.feverparties.com/cgi-bin/template.cgi?content=cap
The short answer is it most definitely is!
We have flown before from Stanstead to Bezier which is fine if you are local to Stanstead, but this year we are driving down with another couple, leaving tomorrow! |

We must have missed the flights from Stanstead to Beziers Cap D'Agde. Flights in are from Luton and Bristol. Did you perhaps land at Montpelier??? We used that in 2002 from Stanstead. |

We flew Stansted to Bezier with Ryan air back in 2008. It may well be that those flights are no longer running.
As we said in our earlier post, we drove down this year. It takes a couple of days, but is great as you dont have to worry about excess baggage!
The weather was not brilliant, and we only managed two days on the beach.
However the place still comes alive at night. go out to eat around 9, then on for a drink in Melrose, and at midnight on to a club, where we ended up meeting a nice group of Swedish people, and a rather cute French couple who spoke very little English.... but when has that been a handicap?? |

"It amazes us just how many Swingers have never heard of Cap d'Agde. "
We agree. It really should be top of any swingers "to do" list.
Where else in the world can you go out five nights running to five different clubs, all within walking distance of your apartment?
Where else in the world can you go out dressed in your club clothes, and look distinctly "normal"!?
Where else in the world can you sit in a restaurant with a transvestite sat on one side of you, and a guy in a latex catsuit (complete with hood and gloves) on the other? And then a woman walks past wearing nothing but a painted on pair of shorts (the paint started to run by the end of the night!)?
Ryan air are doing flights to carcassonne in august from Liverpool for around £150 return..... It would mean hiring a car in carcassonne, but it is then only an hours drive to cap. |

Must say that the Ryanair flight is met at Carcassonne with a bus that drops you at the rail station and there are regular and inexpensive trains to Agde.
Been there, done that |

best for you would be Birmingham to Montpellier. Get the train from Montpellier to Agde - which is a lovely trip in itself.then bus or taxi to resort
or you could do east midlands to carcassone - and train again - train rides good as it really gets you in the mood. If you want to do the travelling at this end Bristol to Beziers is cheap and then Cap is a few miles in taxi/bus
There is a capdagde forum on yahoo - with loads of advice and offers of lifts/sharing etc |

We may be getting tangled up in semantics and definitions here.
It's a naturist resort first and foremost. There's no obligation to be a swinger although a number of visitors are swingers. There's no doubt a lot of the advertising is centred on swingers.
You can go for a fortnight and never see any swinging activity if you so choose - equally it's not hard to find if that's why you've gone there.
It's a family resort. Lots of people bring their kids (and their dogs) and maybe their granny so it'd be unfair to shove swinging in their faces when that's not why they're there.
Just to add. I'm not even sure there's an obligation to be a naturist. I've seen folks in swimsuits around the place and no 'nudity police' insisting they strip off. |

i've just been having a good ole google and it confirms what you say
i found it a bit off putting it being a family resort but then if like you say swinging is not shoved in faces then i guess its all cool
personally i've never been keen on kids on naturist beaches/resorts it just doesn't sit right with me but i know that many will argue its completely innocent and i truely hope they are right

Cap d'agde is a town and one part of the town of Cap d'Agde is fenced off and gated and known as the naturist zone. This zone was created 30 or 40 years ago and has been the de facto home of French naturism.
Over the years, the town has attracted a section 0f the community known locally as "Libertines." Naturists and Libertines have not always got on well and there have been a number of high profile arson attacks thought to have been made by naturist activists against Libertine targets. Having said that, it does not in any way impose on day to day tourist activities.
The beach is very long and has defined, albeit unmarked, sections and you choose where you want to be. Take your place in the Libertine section and you will see sex of all types taking place whilst further down the beach families and non Libertines enjoy their naturist way of life. Swingers do not have sex anywhere apart from where it is not likel;y to cause offence - Clubs, swingers beach and the swingers resorts are as wild as you can imagine and even the regular nightlife is way above what we might call risque but it is all relatively in balance. Try walking past a Police car anywhere else in the World wearing total slut wear and you would likely get arrested. Not so in cap d'agde - it is all part of the scenery. I have seen a woman dressed only in cow bells hanging from her pierced labia leading a gimp across the road by leash going from bar to bar and it is perfectly normal - for Cap d'Agde.
It seems almost bizarre and unbelievable to talk about it from our conservative British point of view but it can be the wildest place on planet earth. Certainly the day time foam parties at la Glamour would be as near to a modern day Roman Orgy as you could ever get - and happens every day, all through the summer. |

You don't find many people who have been brought up as naturists with body image hang ups and issues like that. I don't have a problem with families practising a naturist lifestyle but there is a massive difference between a naturist and a "Libertine" |

Our European cousins have a much more relaxed attitude to family naturism and, although it is a bit strange for a Brit initially, you soon get used to the fact there are kids around.
Because nudity isn't compulsory it's quite OK for kids who are getting to the age where they're a bit selfconscious about their bodies to cover up. Nobody bats an eye. |

The location itself has been a naturist area on and off since the Second World War. The German Army occupying France used the town for R&R and the beach as an area for nude PT. |

My experience is that Brits aren't less likely to be naturists it's just it's hard to be outside, naked, in the British weather. Not so many people are that stoic so it limits it somewhat in the UK.
As far as I'm concerned the reputation we seem to have as prudes and even foster in our media and pub conversations is just a silly Americanism. |

"If you`re not into flying or driving, you could always the Eurostar to Paris then the TGV down to Montpelliar. " NO the tgv goes direct to agde from paris and takes 4hrs and there is a local bus or taxi at agde train station or fly into Bezers or even perpignan and Montpelliar.

I wasn`t sure if the TGV did go all the way to Adge, hence why I mentioned Montpelliar. Thanks for correcting me! |
