I think winks are a great tool.
A good icebreaker which often makes a connection without any embarrassing small talk.
What do others on here think?
What's the most winks that anybody has ever sent or received in a day? |

I never send them for this reason. But I think women have more luck sending them, because us guys are more desperate and grateful for any attention |

A cheeky wink in real life works better than on here IMHO.
I do send them and receive them. |

Nothing wrong with a wink, easy for both parties to exchange winks to show initial interest without the rigamole of messages
We check our winks and back back accordingly, can understand why more don't use it xx |

I definitely don't mind receiving them!
They're of course a little less commonplace as a bloke, but I imagine the opposite is true for women/couples.
The way I see it. Women/couples typically get more messages, and thus a wink is a quick way of signalling interest to other members.
Guys etc. probably do not have to as many messages/winks to reply to and I feel it's totally fine to expect a message.
But yeah, winks are useful at times. |

For most single women if they get too many messages then they get even more too many winks. It's not something I look at. Just clear them out every now and again like friend requests.
Anyway I much prefer a wank to a wink |

It's been said that not deleting them enables re-sending, whereas keeping it prevents the same individual repeating the trick.

I used to be ok with them, then i got fed up. Guys just seemed to view profiles and wink, as well as fabbing pics...it just seemed lazy. I have even winked at guys and all they have done is wink back, no message. It's the same with random friend requests, either they want to see your private pics, or it's another lazy way of saying hi. |

Don't really get many,or messages but when we've received a wink and we might wink back it's seems to just end there which is strange seen has they winked first, at the moment we've a lot going on so profile is blocked anyway but you can't bet a good message to get you interested and then you want to reply back, get the ball rolling so to speak. It's a bit rich of me to cherry pick this bit as I agree with everything else you've said.
But criticising people for reciprocating seems harsh - you looked, but were only motivated to wink, why does that require the recipient to be motivated to do more? |

I've deleted them all now, so see if you can wink again.
We did discover that if someone winks at you, then it enables you to PM them, even if they have filters that would normally block you.
But if you delete the wink before they reply, the filters apply again

I like winks, they work for me. But then I also browse "looked at me", fabbed pics, local updates, online nearby... It's just another way of browsing. When winking it helps to have an eye-catching avatar and a filled-in profile.
I too wish there was an option to disable winks (like you disable gabbing pics!) so the rear of us could wink freely. In all my years on fabs i've only ever sent winks to people I already know. I avoid winking strangers as I don't want to offend.

Anyone genuinely interested in you will message, that's how I see it personally.
I never respond to them, I just simply delete them. Especially when it does (when not hidden) say on my profile that I ignore them yet women still send them. |

As a bi guy I get quite a few winks from straight guys.

Haven't looked at winks or friend invites for ages and seldom do. We used to when we first joined but many that winked tend not to have much of a profile or photos so doesn't get our attention at all to wink back or message so now we just ignore them. |

We don't get many and how we react depends where they come from.
If the profile of the sender is rubbish, we will just delete - as it seems to be like getting blood from a stone from those profiles.
If the profile is good, then it tends to follow on ok, as a sign of initial interest, followed by useful chat.
I would say for single guys sending them, it would be a near waste of time, there is too much competition, you need a well put together message to lead with. |

We love a wink or two! It registers an interest and if we're interested then we wink back and send a message, at least that way we don't waste time messaging people who aren't interested in us |

I would rather people wink than message. A message often warrants a reply and we have to think about what to say in the reply. A wink, we will register their interest, and if we like the look of them we might message them.Or if we are too busy to meet we might friend/hotlist them for a rainy day. Same way, we will wink at people we are interest in. Our profile says everything we want people to know, and we are aware we are not for everybody, so a wink will test the water. We are not lazy, but we don't believe in wasting time. So winks are great. Having said that there is no option to attach a picture or text to a wink, therefore the profile would have to be extremely informative.

We get winked a lot by couples, I'll take a look at their profile if there's no mention that the Lady plays alone I'll ignore it. Got better things to be doing than sending messages to peeps saying thanks, but did you read our profile?
We used to, but not anymore as it got monotonous.. As most havent read it and just disapeer.

Only issue with winks for us is as said the ones from couples, as said by classyswingers our profile pretty much days what we want including "Happy to play with female half of couples do if the lady plays alone let is know".
A wink from a couple either means they haven't read the profile or the fact the lady plays alone is not in their profile so we ignore it, very few winks from couples fit our profile, though some do and may eventually lead to a meet...We only ignore ones that don't fit

A simple read of a profile will tell whether someone likes a wink or not.
If the subject isn't in it, then we shouldn't be surprised to get a wink.
If it is in there however, then those wishes should be respected in our opinion.

We look at them and inevitably delete them.
Most are from people who don't fit our preferences and not read our profile.

From the point of view of a couple, a wink only works if we know more or less what the man looks like. Unlike with a message it's not possible to attach a face pic, thus resulting in most winks all blending in as samey profiles.

A good icebreaker which often makes a connection without any embarrassing small talk.
What do others on here think?
What's the most winks that anybody has ever sent or received in a day?"
Yes and no! |

"well i have tried winking to every lady and couple near my area and still havent got anywhere at all, so i think the wink system to be blunt is a piece of poo and be binned as i thought it would be a nice ice breaker myself but nothing really happens at all, been quite for about a year in my mails, but ill still wait for the day or year when it livens up
That's probably why it doesn't work. I only wink people who I'm interested in, not everyone with a vagina within 20 miles "

"We and I don't mind winks we often send them as a feeler to see if we get one back that way we know if it's worth sending a message. As it can be time wasting sending a message and still not getting a reply. So a wink back tells us on possible interest xx
But if the sender doesn't look at the winks, you'd never know if they were interested."
So True!! But sometimes it feels like the messages aren't looked at but definitely understand your point of view xx |

"As a single guy..I do write to ladys/couples...but u can write a good hello letter and nothing.
which is fine.
But I have found myself using "the wink" button as..it can do ya head in getting no where on here .and in all fairness I wouldn't walk up to someone straight of the bat and start listing my likes / dislikes. .lol
Im just after having the crack..literary. .lmao. wink wink wink...a wink is a cheeky ..hiya sexy.
Not for those of us that don't look at who has sent a wink."
Yes true... |

I do go through the winks and I wink back if I like the look of anybody. Probably should message them but in all honesty I expect them to then send a message with a face pic. |

Maybe you don't understand the whole point of winking. I only wink at those users that I am interested in meeting, not every female I come across... |

I normally send a message, if there's something in a profile to respond to other than photos.
I don't like cut and paste messages, so would rather wink than just send a bland look at me message. I also use winks with friends who I know get lots of mails just like a real life wink to cut through the crowds.
Do they work? Sometimes.
The people who post here tend to put a bit of time into their writing, so perhaps the results here are skewed towards the "we think they're for lazy people" crowd.
If you're a single woman or couple, I'd say they're a very good idea for getting the attention of somebody who looks interesting.
A woman who was completely off my radar winked at me just yesterday and we were quickly chatting and arranging to meet. So yes, if you've seen me and thought: "I wonder...?" Send the wink and I promise I for one will get back to you, even if to say thanks for the interest, but not this time. |

A wink is totally pointless though if the person sending the wink doesn't have any pics or any proper detail in their profile because when we look at whose winked us...there is no enticement to respond |

I send a wink if I like the look of someone or how their profile is written, if you're out and see someone you find attractive you tend to smile first rather than wink or go straight up to them and say " hi great figure, nice arse" etc like some opening messages people send on fab. Maybe it should be send a smile instead of a wink. |
