Orgasmic headaches
Jump to: Newest in thread
This is aimed at other women really and would appreciate any advice
I've got a wand which I love and is very effective but have found I sometimes get the most excruciating sudden pain in my head at the point of orgasm. For anyone who gets migraine, the pain is akin to a really severe episode of that, as if your head's in a tight vice and has me clutching my head in my hands, moaning (not in a good way), feeling sick and crying. Thankfully it's so far only lasted about 20 minutes before wearing off but I don't want to stop using it, even though that might be the obvious answer to avoiding the issue.
I wondered if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, is there any way of preventing it ? I did think of maybe taking migraine medication beforehand but that seems a bit extreme ... |

Okay, Mr here. I also suffer with this. I saw the doctor and she told me it was "coital neuralgia"
Basically there is no cure, the only thing I can do is take co-codamol before sex. Problem is I don't like taking tablets much and It doesn't happen every time. |

I went to see my Dr about the same thing ..he called it post coital headache...
Found this on Google. ...
Sexual headaches, also known as coital cephalalgia, are a rare type of headache that occur in the skull and neck during sexual activity, including masturbation or orgasm. ... They may be caused by general exertion, sexual excitement, or contraction of the neck and facial muscles. |

Yes I have had these in the past - they are indeed excruciating ! I went to the doctors about it ! His advice ( which I did follow) is to NOT orgasm for a few days and the body kind of resets - like it eases off the tension. I do suffer from migraines so maybe it makes me more susceptible? There's quite a bit of information on the web about it.
My sympathies - I used to get them making love with the most beautiful lover I've ever had - he made me cry with joy so having my orgasms stopped by the headaches was very upsetting ! |

I sometimes suffer with this especially if I have had lots of orgasms in a short time and seems to hit me more certain times of my monthly cycle
Unfortunately haven't found a cure but have tablets on hand just in case
Will def keep watching this thread tho in case there's an answer |

It's not limited to women. I get these sometimes, especially if I've already got a mild headache to start with. And I'm prone to migraines as well, so maybe there is a connection. |

Yeah, I feel the same, and it doesn't happen every time, nor do I necessarily know when I start to play that I'm going to use the wand! |

When a man or woman cums it makes your blood pressure go high ,it does the same when you vomit ,high blood pressure causes headaches also if you are slightly dehydrated... |

Thanks for all the replies
It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one but (stamps foot) I don't want to have to stop having intense orgasms, or become scared of them!
Will maybe try taking painkillers or anti migraine drugs before if I intend using my wand. I'm thankful I've only ever had this pain after using that and not more generally as some of you do |

One of H's favorite positions is facedown legs closed and hard either anal or vaginal in this position she'll cum harder than normal & get an instant intense headache, It doesn't usually last long & it's still one of her favorites which rather says it all really.
Just saying your not the only one really..

My wife had this the other week funnily enough, it was the first time it's happened to her. From what we read online it's possibly to do with a drop in blood pressure and people who are prone to migraines are more likely to get them.
Her headache lasted all night, she can only take standard painkillers.
It was a very intense multiple orgasm, plus she'd had a couple of glasses of wine, so we weren't sure if that was a contributory factor. |

I have and it scared the heck out of me. It happened to me shortly after moving into this place,I had the builder's in and had a million thing's to sort by myself. It stopped me in my tracks,I thought I had some flipping brain tumour and made an appointment at the doctors. I remember sitting in the waiting room thinking this could be the start of something bad.
Well the woman hadn't even heard of it and was bloody googling it whilst I was sat there! I was scared to death and she hadn't a clue! Sent me off saying if it happens again come back, thankfully it didn't! It put me off sex for a while I know that,I presume it was all down to the stress of renovating this place. |

This happened to me once after a meet. I came pretty hard and soon after couldn't see properly, and sat in the dark with a horrible migraine for the night. Worth it though |

Exactly what H says & i'd add if we do this position it will be as a finale fue to the headachrs and she would have already come several times already and does in this position..

God, it must be good if she willingly puts herself through that sort of headache! I'm a big fan of saying 'no pain, no gain' about all sorts of things that hurt but am not relishing it happening again |

As said though "if" we do that position, so everything has to be right, the preamble, the play, etc. I don't suggest it as its not me that gets the headache, so probably once a week or so. H gets them sometimes from multiples too but its 100% she'll get one in this position..

I know it sounds "Trumpity" but its not meant to, When you've been with someone 15yrs if you don't know what makes them tick everywhere, you maybe shouldn't be with them? I never got much from my previous wives whereas H wakes the neighbours, so it would be egocentric to say its me when it patently isn't. However H says she wasn't like it with others..I put it down to we just "fit"..
Long may we continue to do so, though a night off occasionally wouldn't go amiss
I'm gunna get a kick in the nuts for that

Guys suffer from this too. Along with the advise you're getting here it could be a tension headache caused by the muscles at the base of your skull. Get a proper massage around your neck and shoulders. It worked for me. |

Hi . Ive had these for the last few months. Not great .stops me in my tracks . Google thunderclap headaches. Thought i should get eyes tested cos spending hrs online probably isnt helping. Add stress and a HOT session is guaranteed to bring one defo.
Should get checked out with GP though. |

Fooking hell this is a relief. I've suffered from these on and off for years. Went to see a dr when I was at uni and didn't get any real answer.
Does make the next few orgasms after it surfaces nervy affairs.

I've had these as well and like everyone else here they are so painful you don't forget them.
In my case I noticed a pattern i.e. it seemed to happen if I'd been drinking black coffee and/or red wine beforehand. It could also happen if it's a 'quickie'!? |

Male half here, had this happen once, just as i orgasm'd had a searing pain and like a white light which turned into one of the worse headaches ever had, i think as has been mentioned probably tension as my neck was so painful at the same time, really struggled to move afterwards. |

copied & pasted from another website, didn't put the link on in case it's not allowed
There are generally considered to be two types of these headaches. In one, the excitement building up with sexual activity causes muscle contraction in the head and neck, and this causes head pain.
It usually builds up to a maximum just before or at orgasm, and soon goes away.
The second type is caused by changes in blood vessels in the head and is probably a form of migraine.
It is a very intense, severe headache usually occurring just before or during orgasm. It has been called an 'orgasmic headache' or 'orgasmic cephalalgic'
The pain may be around or behind the eyes, and can last from a few minutes to a few hours.
It can be treated effectively, sometimes with drugs called beta-blockers, and sometimes anti-migraine drugs can be effective, but they need to be taken before intercourse.
Once the headache is there it is too late. Very rarely is this sort of headache anything to worry about – but if it is increasing in severity, and accompanied by vomiting, nausea, stiffness of the neck or other symptoms, then it should be investigated.
If this continues to be a problem, do go and see your doctor. He or she will be aware of this problem, so don't be embarrassed.
And it may be that some simple treatment will put a stop to it. |

I have a play partner who suffers from this exact same thing when I used my mains powered doxy on her. First orgasm is fine is the follow up orgasms from the wand that induce intense pain in her head . The answer only to use my doxy for her first orgasm then use my tongue and a glass dildo as its the intense pleasure from the wand that induces the headaches not normal slower build up orgasms and pleasure from other types of stimulating . |

I get this now and then. I'm prone to migraine too.
Find it worse if I cum on all fours or have my head dipped over the bed as I must be dipping my head lower and get a rush to the head. The head pains are horrible. I've had it go into a full blown migraine for a few days too. |

Are you fiercely clenching your jaw and neck? This can cause the pain too. One thing worth a try is REALLY opening your jaw afterwards, like a massive yawn. |

I have recently started getting these headaches too and I pretty sharpish took myself off to the doctor...and had a very amusing consultation where she commiserated with me about my Headaches and congratulated me on my orgasms.. ...she said it had to do with a change in blood pressure and it was mostly men who suffered from it...I got medication to take daily for a while called half beta progane (beta blockers) they seem to be helping....xx |
