Looking for some tips and advice please guys. Am going to my first house party and wondered if people could give me some advice on the do's and donts. I feel I should take the host something as a thank you. Is that a bit over the top?
Would be really good to hear back.
Thanks |

I would say, treat your hosts as if it was a 'conventional' party, and take maybe wine or chocolates as a thank you.
You may need your hosts' support during the evening, e.g. if anyone gets a little bit pushy, so it's good to establish a rapport with your hosts right from the beginning.
Have a great time! |

just treat it as a vanilla party as in your going to chill out and have fun, do not put any pressure on yourself to do anything, that way if you come away not having done anything you won't feel too dissapointed you can just look at it that you had a good night and made some new like minded friends
if you do come away walking bany legged then huge bonus |

we hold partys that are exactly as you say. you speak total sense . well done. If its a good party the hosts will make sure you are ok. one bit of advice ,, if u get there and its not what you thought or arent comfortable. be polite and leave. dont feel obligated. if this happened to us we would want to know so we could make changes next time
(fortunatley it hasnt as we take hosting very seriously
Have a great time!"

Seriously though, the parties I've been to started with everyone having a drink and a chat. After a while people started to slope off to the bedrooms. There were still a few left chatting initialy. I wasn't like a green light and everyone dissapeared lol.
When you feel comfortable just take a wonder around were the fun is and if your comfortable enough join in, if not go back down and have a chat. You'll probably find there's still a couple of people chatting throughout the night.
The parties I've been to have been well organised and I've never come across any problems. If you do have any just chat to the hosts, if they've gone to the trouble of arranging it I can guarentee they'll go out of their way to help you.
It can be a bit daunting at first but you soon relax.
Hope you have fun xxx

" yes u are right. a good party takes its own course. if u set it up correctly and put the effort in with the house and guests it works really well. |
