Yes and the guys often have no symptoms, but also from antibiotics and various other things can trigger it. It is easily dealt with these days .... trip to chemist. I avoid antibiotics as much as I can

thrush is not treated with antibiotics; it is treated with anti fungicides. Thrush is a fungicidal issue, not bacterial. " thrush is in fact related to yeast. In fact " good " bacteria kill thrush.

In fact, if you are on antibiotics, you are at increased vulnerability of thrush ( candida), because antibiotics kill both " Good" and " bad" bacteria.

Most people should be aware that if they are in antibiotics, then they are more vulnerable to thrush and need to take precautions against it.

He needs to be using something like canestan; ( using the ointment on his cock)

If he is on antibiotics .... hes immune system is low .....

So if he has it .....this is why

I think the best thing you can do OP is seek qualified medical opinion.

Canesten combi from the pharmacist. Contains one tablet that works systemically to tackle fungus, and a tube of cream to apply to your vulva for 2 weeks to soothe and heal. Job done

"I get thrush every time I take antibiotics "

Having some probiotic yogurt with the tablets can help with that as it replaces some of the good bacteria the antibiotics kill off.

Eating probiotic yogurt will do nothing; and bacteria in it is killed off as soon as it hits your stomach by stomach acid. The whole " good bacteria" yogurt thing is a con.

However; applying ordinary plain yogurt to your " parts " directly can be effective.

But you are better off with a proper thrush treatment.

According to my GUM specialist condom use can generate an increased risk of thrush. He thinks it's probably due to the spermicide which many brands have on the surface. Some people are also more prone to Candida Albicans infection than others, just down to their personal biochemistry.

The reality is that everyone has " thrush" ( candida yeasts) in/on their body all the time. It is kept under control by your normal body chemistry. ( acidity/ alkalinity of body fluids, benign bacterial levels, hormones) When any of these goes out of balance; you get acute attacks of it.

Some people are more susceptible than others; it is controlled by treatments such as " canestan".

Diet etc can also affect your body chemistry; use of antibiotics can kill "benign", (as well as " non-benign") bacteria .

Simple.

it's rare you can catch it from a man and vice versa but that's not to say it's a definite no. When I've had it through antibiotics my husband has always been OK.
