What or who has changed?

Hi, I am relatively newly returned to Fabs after a break to enjoy a wonderful f/b relationship that has ended.

Two years ago I found it easy to chat to people on Fabs and made contacts galore but since returning I am striking out all the time. Can anyone give me a clue on why things are different now?

Maybe it's because as this site gets more popular the more peeps join there are probably 5000 more single guys here now then when you was here last time

I think it has changed but not necessarily for the worse.

You just may need to work harder to get meets as there are a few who expect instant meets with little or no effort.

I find the site more accepting of difference, still some way to go but it is better...

Chat/Forums: I think people may drop in and out more now than it be a regular thing people did. I remember the times a few years ago that it was a daily/nightly thing people participated in.

I think the site has introduced fantastic filters to allow people to sift out people they don't want contact from... of course, these are under utilised as some still like to have a bloody moan about certain fractions within the site.

Maybe a negative is the slightly increasing 'profile critiques' incidents... where someone asks for advice and they are then asked to answer for every word, comma, fullstop they have written... their pics are scrutinised and sometimes they have to explain why their 3rd cousin Elsie shagged the milkman bareback... it goes too far and always then the onslaught is written off as 'well you did ask'

I think this may be because of the recent media coverage of swinging. As it has gained a greater profile on tv and radio more people are showing interest and joining these sites to see what's on them. Also as the numbers increase there are a greater number of very young people and people who are not sure whether this lifestyle is right for them or not.

I don't think it's a bad thing but it does increase the complexity of these sites and makes it slightly more difficult to find genuine meets.

Hey thanks to you all for you replies. I can see the membership has grown and I accept that means more time wasters and sight seeing. I am delighted to say posting this thread was the best thing I did as its put me back in touch with a couple of lost friends on here!

I am going to keep replying to profiles and get more involved in other ways as I love this site and the scene!!
