Am I wrong for blocking people who I message and they read the message and don't reply? I just think it's best as it'll stop them coming up in my searches so there's no risk of me re messaging them.
What do you lot think? |

I do the same, i leave it while and if no reply by day after i block them, use it as a filter so that i don't message again and they don't pop up in search, its simply using the tools of site to make it work for you. |

"How quickly do you block them?
I mean, they could have just read your message quickly but don't have time to reply straight away."
I usually wait a day or two as I get people do real and reply when they have time. |

But you can mark them as unread if you haven't time to reply. That's what I do |

My record for a reply to a message after I read it was almost 2 weeks, sometimes life gets in the way. OP, you could always use the private notes feature putting the date you messaged and that you didn't get a reply/was deleted then if you clcik their profile again it will show up. |

But Some people read messages and reply at a later date/time particularly couples as one of them maybe waiting to show the other half or they reply to messages together,
would do that with the ones that just get deleted plus if you try message someone who hasn't replied you get a warning first anyway but just do whatever is best for you |

Also, not sure if anyone else does this but I used to save the messages I was interested in replying to at some point then do a bulk delete of my inbox as it was quicker than deleting one by one. This will show that they've deleted your message when in fact they've saved it to reply to at a later date. |

I don't always reply straight away as I read the message and reply when I have more time. I block people I am not interested in meeting, as it saves wasting their time. X |

timing OP a lot of the art to getting a response is timing if your timings bad for the person your messaging your not going to get a response even if they read your message .
if they haven't block you after reading your message then they have not ruled you totally out have they .
so if you block you stop yourself from seeing their status updates and any possible chance of them contacting you.
I can not tell you how to behave or what to do,
but remember blocking someone for no other reason than they didn't reply to a message from you is kind of a case of cutting off your own nose off to spite you face when looked at with the thinking above in mind . |

I think blocking anyone is kind of like ahooting yourself in the foot.
Just because someone is not interested at that moment in time, doesn't mean they will never be interested... what happens if you bump into said person at a club? Could be the best sex you ever have. Don't judge a book by it's cover, don't shoot yourself in the foot.
Play nice. |

Are you saying that blocking someone is not playing nicely? Its only a feature of the site that can be put to good use for many reasons. |

If someone deletes a message from us we block !! Don't do second and third chances times too short and we aren't desperate enough to wait incase they change their minds !! |

I'm sure you had good reason for blocking him, if you ignored him all night. |

"Blocking is never wrong in the eyes of the blocker, it's frequently so in the eyes of the blocked. "
Haha it is indeed, some seem to be so insulted by it as though its personal. Its a complete stranger blocking another complete stranger they have no interest in. Why some take is so personally is beyond me. |

He messaged me I said thanks but not for me and he sent me several abusive messages so he got the block button. Some people just think if they send one message saying do you wanna fuck it's going to happen |

That's what private notes are for....mostly. Or you could just put...saw her in Tesco.....has really good tits etc!
If you get a no thanks/not my type reply....then go for block to save time! |

We do check if people have messaged/wink us before or if we have messaged/winked people, so we don't repeat. We also make notes. Never felt the need to block unless someone makes a nuisance of themselves. To us blocking closeddoors completely. Peoples circumstances change. We've rejected people then ended up playing a year later. Also wouldn't want I run into soneone we've blocked at a party. |

Why not look at the top where it says if you messaged them before and if they have messaged you?
We really only block people we have no interest in meeting or those that are annoying in the updates feed |

It depends on the time frame I suppose. I had a couple message me yesterday. I opened the message, and got called away for ten minutes. I wrote a reply, sent it, only to find I'd been blocked. So sometimes it could be that a message has been opened with intent to reply |

Sometimes the system which is supposed to say "You last messaged them x months ago" does not work.
While it is a little frustrating when someone reads my message, and a week later has neither replied nor deleted the message...I usually assume they are not interested and I make a private note to that effect. |

Sometimes I read a message from someone I really like and think I'll come back to it when I have a little more time and I can write them a decent considered reply. So it's not necessarily a bad thing. |

We usually send a no thank to men we don't want to meet, but don't reply to men we like the look of as we might not be looking to meet at that time, but would get back to them when we are.
We dont tend to have time to get into conversation with everyone we might be interested in, so wait until we know we can meet then chat to people who are free at that time.

Up to you. I wouldn't object to being blocked in those circumstances, however as a single female on here I get a lot of messages and don't always have time for new guys even if I'd like to.
I also don't want to start chatting if I know it's not going to go anywhere in the near future.
If I like someone I'll hotlist them so I'm reminded who's out there if I have some free time.
If other women are doing that, you might lose out.
Why not use the private notes feature? |

I do the same kind of thing to the OP. I block people who have said something along the lines of "not for me".
I block them so I don't forget about them and message them again in 6 months only for the cycle to repeat. |
