like how do you know where to hold one (i don't want to hold one in a fuck club and probably not a pub or my own house).
i know where i could advertise it but don't know when to hold one and don't want to spend any money. there's nothing much round here so might as well get something going myself. |

The only ones I've been to were in a pub or a normal night club ...
Obs for the pub you just ask landlord if you can reserve a few tables for your extreme knitting club |

it could be a tattoo forum . I doubt a landlord would be too bothered as long as the tills were ringing. Everyone who came to the socials we attended was well behaved so no suspicions were raised and nobody turned up in a g string and sequinned boob tube |

I organised one to coincide on a pub quiz night.
We didn't say we were swingers, we just turned up and joined in. I don't think they'd had such a good turn out before
Getting men to come was pretty easy, finding single women to come was a bloody nightmare. |

I had one in the function room of a pub. It's possible to find pubs that have private function rooms for free. Said we were an Internet group. We chat online but never met.
We had separate entrance to the rest of the pub. It went really well. Single guys and couples were no problem, getting single ladies was more difficult. I aimed mine specific at newer people with a view to getting verifications etc.
PM me for more ideas.
Didn't reveal location on the open site, so I didn't get 50 guys turning up in a room that held 30. |

I found the same thing. I organised a night in a local pub, they have booths at the back then we did the quiz night another time. Low numbers but it was good. |

"You could see how many people are interested. And if you have enough mumbers hore a private hall. Or get an apartment.
For a social? "
When I first joined the swinging scene 150-300 people wasn't unusual for some of the annual socials. |

You'd be OK in some of the pubs in Bedminster, probably feel under inked |

I've organised quite a few and used pubs mainly. Didn't say anything to the pub but used one with plenty of space.
When you 'advertise' it you will get tons of people saying they will come. Then tons of them will not show up.
We never give the exact location out until a day or so before and only to people who have confirmed. A good proportion of them will also not show. One or two will let you know.
I take a box of sweets to put on the table so there's a clue as to who we are without being OTT |

I organise socials since March (LondonSwingSocial) and started in the pub 1st and now do them in bars. One particular bar in central London found out what we do due to an excited male half of a couple telling them, and it was a positive outcome as they always welcome us and reserve the semi private area with its own bar and are very in the know... they even brovide free welcome drinks. I think they find us an interesting bunch
Find a venue that has music in the background to allow people to hear themselves talk x |

I've attended a few socials ..all were held in pub function room, they all had hotels reasonably local for those who were staying over..from speaking to the organisers of those events there is a lot to sort out. |

ooh i'm getting nervous about it now...seemed so easy when i first asked.
ok, so first i will see what's already on locally. i don't wanna be using the same pub or date as someone else does.
then i'll figure out a few possible locations, ask in the forums which will be best for those who want to come along.
then there's some additional stuff to sort out as well but i can help with that.
i don't mind if people carry on posting, there's bound to more i've not thought of already. |
