Should I be worried?

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

A very strange thing just happened.A guy sent me a couple of messages and a friend request,,he sent me a couple of pictures including of him in his police uniform,,,all seemed perfectly trustworthy until he suddenly blocked me.

So,,,possibly a pic collector but one with a police uniform (may be genuine,,,maybe not).

It's not excessively worrying in itself but it certainly has potential to be a worrying situation.

Any thoughts? Anyone?

It said 'verified profile' but no details,,,,it was a balaclava profile pic but the pic he sent me was a face pic (I saved it to my pc).

Just seems a bit odd.Only worrying in the sense that someone claiming to be a police officer has acted strangely (on a site of this nature).

Its funny how certain things can spark off a little anxiety but think about it, you're not doing anything illegal so him allegedly being a police officer isn't significant. If anything its probably him who could get in trouble for sending pictures of him in his uniform on here.

We had a message once from a guy who lived in the next street saying he'd recognised us...made me sweat for a bit but when I realised he was married and his wife didn't know I calmed right down

Thank you to everyone who has taken the trouble to reply or send me private messages,,,I feel a little bit silly for worrying over what was probably nothing (he probably just decided I'm not his type after all).

Still,it's nice to know people will rally round and help out in a crisis, even one that is not really a crisis at all.

I'll try not to be so easily spooked in future.

thanks again. XX

So a woman is worried about being blocked by a man and thinks something fishy is going on!

If a man posted this I feel the replies may have been along the lines of.....

Get a grip!

People can block who they want!

It's your own fault!

Women get 1000s of mail just get on with it!

Etc etc...

Maybe he just didn't want to meet you after all!

Maybe so but...A local policeman took an interest in me and then blocked me mid conversation.I just felt a little un nerved so I saved the pic that he sent me...not a pic from his profile. Just to be on the safe side (being ultra cautious probably).

There are genuine Policemen on here, there are pretend Policemen. There are current and ex members of Special Forces on here (apparently). I am sure if you were on here long enough the Pope would pop by to say hi. I wouldn't worry about it, a lot of guys whether they are genuinely uniformed or not, try to use a uniform to get into your knickers. I am far more wary of the uniformed guys as they can be more hassle than they are worth (IMHO anyway).

I'm sorry but I have to agree with what someone said earlier...

If this post was written by a guy, by now he would have been crucified and had the piss ripped out of him.

Let's be bloody honest here, what relevance is it that the guy is wearing a police uniform? Everyday hundreds of people block other users, if he was wearing an Asda uniform would you be freaking out that the local store manager is going to ring you up and ban you from the Fruit and Veg department? ...exactly it sounds ridiculous doesn't it?!

Just because someone is in the "police" doesn't mean you can't be on a swingers site, just to confirm to you

1) it's not illegal

2) people working for the police have the right to block you

3) he probably didn't like you (brutality hurts)

So just to sum up, stop being dramatic, move on and stop worrying about something that is ridiculous and enjoy your time on here!

I'll shut up now and carry on making breakfast

If he isn't a police officer....then he is just an idiot who likes to dress up. No worries.

If he is a police office...he has, potentially, a lot more to lose than you. Keep his pic. No worries.

I would just like to point out that I'm not accusing anyone of doing anything wrong or illegal (not even intimating that they have).

I also pointed out that I think he possibly just decided he didn't fancy me after all and that I was probably worrying about nothing.

I have no concern over being blocked.not a problem at all.

My only concern was that a friend request was sent (ie access to private pics) and then blocked.

I have no problem being recognised either. If a policeman wants to say hello in the street, that's cool...I have no intention of trying to make life awkward for anyone else.I'm certainly not reporting anyone.

Sometimes, living alone and slightly isolated, particularly at night, can make me feel a little over cautious....I'm sure that's all it is...me getting briefly worried about nothing.

Thanks.

So just to sum up, stop being dramatic, move on and stop worrying about something that is ridiculous and enjoy your time on here!

I'll shut up now and carry on making breakfast

However I would think that a genuiene police officer would not disclose his or her occupation on this site. "

why not? i have met a few policemen from here, they were open about it....it's just a job at the end of the day.

OP, i really cannot see anything in what you posted to be worried about and agree that if this was a fella's post it would have been full of entirely different responses.

I once met a fem for a 3sum with her policeman fb

I turned up and he got delayed but would be round in a hour. Turned up in a hi viz security vest in black trousers and a black bomber jacket. He even had a police car. A security car with amber lights on. As for hes handcuffs. Think he got them from the pound shop. Needless to say i called hes bluff and the fem said i was jealous

"There used to be a guy here who dressed like a vicar. Chances are he was not real either. Block him and move on.

I wouldn't bet on it, going from recent press reports some of those vicars are dirty buggers"

I can vouch for it... Saw at least 3 at swingfields!

It's such a shame that some guys on here simply haven't the 'balls' to say 'sorry your not for me' I've found in the past even after many messages between myself and fellow Fab Ladies.. That there may not be a sexual attraction on both sides, it takes a stronger person to turn around and say 'sorry, your not for me'.. and that should be respectfully accepted on both sides, whether your saying it or the other party. I've been in both sides of the equation.... Hey your never gonna be attracted to everyone.. and visa versa.

Just take a small bit of solace in the fact that you never met this loser, keep your chin up, best wishes and better future fabbing

x x

Just want to say how unperturbed the OP has been throughout this thread makes a pleasant change

Well there's a conundrum right there.

First part of your post you blather on about being respectful, and acceptance and it's OK to say no thanks blah blah blah blah.

Then you finish with calling him a loser.

Cracking post.

Yeah but what people need to realise is that many of us guys get so many messages a day, like at least 10,000 and it's just easier to block and bulk delete than send out a load of 'no, thank you' replies.

"A very strange thing just happened.A guy sent me a couple of messages and a friend request,,he sent me a couple of pictures including of him in his police uniform,,,all seemed perfectly trustworthy until he suddenly blocked me.

So,,,possibly a pic collector but one with a police uniform (may be genuine,,,maybe not).

It's not excessively worrying in itself but it certainly has potential to be a worrying situation.

Any thoughts? Anyone?"

I'd be extremely worried.

You're welcome.

Thanks but I have nothing to be perturbed about...I asked for people's thoughts and I got a range of opinions.
