Any sexual partners you've been with in the six months before your symptoms started should be tested and treated to stop the infection recurring or being spread to others, even if no specific cause is identified.
PID can occur in long-term relationships where neither partner has had sex with anyone else, and it's more likely to return if both partners aren't treated at the same time.
You should avoid having sex until both you and your partner have completed the course of treatment.
If you haven't had a sexual partner in the previous six months, your most recent partner should be tested and treated. Your doctor or sexual health clinic can help you contact your previous partners and this can usually be done anonymously, if you prefer. |

I have had PID before and it's not necessarily from a STD as it can be caused by bacteria that lives in the vagina.
Either way it can really hurt & it made me feel pretty low for a while.
Aside of antibiotics I drank loads of water & cranberry juice to flush through my system.
Hope you're feeling better soon x |

"I've just been diagnosed with PID. Doctor doesn't reckon it's from an STI (I'm a safety girl) but is rather sore down there.
Antibiotics, no sex for two weeks
Any other ladies had it?"
I'm sorry to hear this... Being a sex worker can you apply for unemployment benefits? |

In the USA if you have a injury and can't work. You get workmen comp. The government will pay for all your medical expenses and lost wages..

I wouldn't quite class being a dominatrix the same as sex worker, not sure but wouldn't necessarily stop her working as long as she wasn't engaging sexually with them. Not that it's any of our businesses. Hope you feel better soon, I've had it back when I was younger with one of my first boyfriends and it sucked so badly. Plenty fluids and take it easy |

As I understand it the OP is a pro-Domme. Although pro-Dommes are sex workers, being unable to have sex wouldn't stop her working because pro-Dommes do not usually have intercourse with clients.
Lots of "sex workers" don't have intercourse with clients.
What your comment implies is that the OP is a prostitute.
Whilst there's nothing, IMO, wrong with being a prostitute, accusing people of being prostituteswhen they aren't could be considered offensive.

Their is no need for this ... Miss is very open with her life on the forums... And I asked her a question...
Since I don't know any sex workers or dominatrix . I was curious to know if she qualified for benefits due to not being able to work...
How was I being rude? |

Actually, that's a good question. If you are an escort and can't work because of a work related injury would your insurance cover it? |

Technically pro-Dommes are sex workers. So are people who work on 'phone sex lines, professional cam girls and various others.
Not all sex workers have intercourse with clients. Prostitution and pro-Domination are, as you rightly say, very different things.
Also as you rightly say, it's a very personal comment to have made. |

The OP can't have sex. Your comment suggests she won't be able to work which means you clearly think she has sex with clients! You implied she's a prostitute even though, as you say, she's quite clear she's a pro-Domme.
You don't think suggesting someone is a prostitute is personal and potentially insulting?
Sure you said "sex worker" but your comment referred to prostitution not general sex work.

Oh and since you "said sex worker which could mean a fetish model", if you knew she was a fetish model or, say, a 'phone sex operator, would you have suggested she couldn't work because she can't have intercourse? |

Sex worker covers a range of sex work, as you said above, including escorts and Pro-Domme.
Prostitutes have sex with clients.
Escort is often used as a euphemism for prostitute, but an escort may have sex with clients but not necessarily.
A pro-Domme will very, very rarely have sex with a client. They sell their skill, not their body.
If you don't think suggesting a pro-Domme is a prostitute is insulting, go to an established fet night at a club, find the house Domme or a Pro-Domme and tell her you thinks she's a prostitute. Let us know how you get on.
Incidentally, since you say this was a genuine question and your comment wasn't intended to be insulting, I answered it above. Pro-Dommes are self-employed so they won't usually get any form of state assistant for short term sick leave. The same would be true for most escorts and prostitutes, I would think. |

You really don't see what's wrong with suggesting someone who isn't a prostitute is a prostitute?
Or is it ok to infer someone is a prostitute because they're a sex worker so that's essentially the same thing?
You didn't just ask a question, you asked a question with a really rude, personal implication attached.
Seriously, find a pro-Domme and tell her she's a prostitute. Let us know how it goes. |

Wow. Well this blew up eh?
Let's just clear a few things up.
A sex worker is someone who works within the sex industry. I am a Dominatrix and considered a sex worker, which is fine. Yet like b most Dommes, I do not have vaginal sex with clients. Though I do fuck them in the bottom.
I am also a performer and DJ. I am self employed. I have no sick pay or union as a sex worker due to our Draconian laws. Yet am in Equity as a performer.
I have sex with people as a hobby in my private life. I play safe. It's fun.
The doctor I saw today thinks my PID isn't from an STI (since I don't bareback) yet suggested antibiotics anyway.
I'm sore down there and started the post to see if anyone else has experienced it and perhaps some understanding.

Did the doctor say what kind of infection it is? I get high Strep b which isn't an sti and that makes me feel ill and uncomfortable. I was told it's a naturally occurring flora that anyone can have. |

And yes I've a mum sisters and friends who have all had a little episode of suffering and they all still mock me for using baby wipes !!
I'm just saying my bathroom has toilet roll, but I use wipes !!

And as has been said, can be caused by bacteria. |

That's why I was wondering about the strep,it's a bacteria. I didn't get any of the advice you did though so probably not the same thing.

In the USA if you have a injury and can't work. You get workmen comp. The government will pay for all your medical expenses and lost wages..
I said sex worker. That could mean anything from fetish model to escort. Why are people so quick to be offended...
If I asked the same of a surgeon with a broken hand... Would you take a go at me?
Woah! I do fetish modelling and I'm not a sex worker!"
Excuse me if I came into this thread sounding ignorant...
I have learned there are varying degrees of sex work.... I thought all sex work involved having sex for money... I have learned not all sex workers have sex for money...
You would be classed as a model. In the same category as hand , swimsuit, hair , or plus sized model...
I apologize if I have offended any sex workers in this thread...

"I've just been diagnosed with PID. Doctor doesn't reckon it's from an STI (I'm a safety girl) but is rather sore down there.
Antibiotics, no sex for two weeks
Any other ladies had it?
I'm sorry to hear this... Being a sex worker can you apply for unemployment benefits?

Yes after I had my coil put in (which is common apparently). Suffered back pains and all but the antibiotics clear it up ( I was given three types) and it isn't anything to worry about. Just get another check in about a month to make sure it's gone completely and you should be fine. |

People are sending you hate mail over this?
People need to get a backbone and say what they think on the thread.
Sending hate mail then blocking is such a cowardly, pathetic thing to do.
C'mon people, if you have something to say, say it. |

I've been considering a coil. You just put me right off. Thank you for the warning. This risk hasn't been mentioned by any of the health professionals that have tried to persuade me to get one, (and there have been a few now). |

Aaah that's what it could be. Had a coil fitted in October |
