Hi all,
What makes you reply to a message?
I often send messages to females and couples (not copied and pasted) and often including their buzz word to prove I've read their profile, but 90% of the time it just gets deleted with no reply.
So my question is, what makes you delete a message and what makes you reply to a message?

I only ever reply to people who have read my profile and have a interesting one themselves.
Right now, I've got 2 messages asking to meet where my profile clearly states 'I am not meeting at the moment'. Needless to say, they are both getting deleted. |

Having a face pic in the public pics for me to look at or sending one with their message will get a reply even if it's a Sorry, I'm not interested.
No face pics and I don't see why I should reply. |

We say that we reply to all messages which was true until yesterday when we received one, so tedious, from someone that judging by the message and profile we would avoid at all costs, the type of person that you just can't shake off at a party who wants to chuck in yet more "witty remarks" each time he "accidentally" bumps into you...that sadly, for the first time...we just deleted a message. Sorry Fab.  |

if i fancy them and their message is nice. and that's if i'm not already too busy chatting to a few people.
i also reply if i sort of know the person from the forums and they just want to know something. i try not to chat too long to anyone i'm not interested in in case they think i'm up for meeting them. |

A gallery full of dick pics doesn't help. Blurred out faces in social settings shows you're sociable, which is what we're looking for. A little more detail on the profile of what exactly you're here for wouldn't go a miss. |

I don't take offence if I don't get a reply or my msg is just deleted.
It happens.
I can understand that such things just means they are not interested and I'm cool with that.

Initially I wanted to reply to all the messages but sometimes you can just tell that the message you've got is a generic fishing message (cast out for everyone) from the preview screen or sometimes I'm just not really interested in responding to 'nice tits' messages.
Sometimes I think it might seem more rude to read and ignore than instant delete without reading. Like, it's not about them or what they've said but more about me and how much time I have or how I'm feeling/what I'm looking for at the time. I do feel bad about not responding all the time though, it's just I don't always have time (not that I'm thinking I'm some sort of supermodel by any means!) 
A face profile pic helps loads though. I don't really want to talk to just a penis  |

Sometimes. Mostly not. And don' get started on that one! It is a common complaint here and done to death. Do read the site FAQ if that is of concern. |

i wouldn't either.
i'm very specific about what i'm after on here, if someone isn't compatible with that then i won't bother telling them. they should read my profile before messaging. |

Yes majority of my msges are deleted...
Because as a single guy i get so few its a thrill when one arrives.. ALWAYS answer no matter how wierd even if its to say " bugger off"
Politeness and respectfullness goes along way....Even though your not face to face your still meeting someone new.

I can get better chat up lines in a pub and they know nothing about me - guys on here have a whole profile to help them tailor their messages so stuff like this is just lazy! Maybe it works for some who are happy to meet and shag at the drop of a hat but I need a bit of rapport first. |

I can get better chat up lines in a pub and they know nothing about me - guys on here have a whole profile to help them tailor their messages so stuff like this is just lazy! Maybe it works for some who are happy to meet and shag at the drop of a hat but I need a bit of rapport first."

For us they need to be what we are looking for, have a face pic either in the message or on the profile and reasonably local. Then it needs to be more than just a couple of words. We will then always reply even if it is a no sorry not for us.
Those with no pic and out of our age range just get deleted im afraid. we usually get 20 + messages a day and if we advertise for a meet it can be 100+ so it takes a lot of time trying to sort them out and reply. |

I have tried that or similar and also put information about there profile in to show them I have read it, also a face picture but still no replies generally.
What's am I doing wrong or is it my profile?? |

Makes not much of a jot what you write
The recipients can see a profile pic against the message in their inbox - if it's a face pic and they don't like - the message never gets opened..
There's no right answer, send what you think is appropriate to the profile that interests you
Assume you won't get a reply, a bonus if you do..
Then "the grass is always Greener" scenario creeps in as the new mail doesn't stop to whoever you are chatting to |

What makes us delete a message.... hmmmmm
A profile with no verifications and the user has been ln for more than 6 months.
A lazy profile, a few lines about how good they are, or the elusive 'fill in later' type.
Rude messages, with cock pics attached.
There's more, but these are the main ones that hit the bin instantly.

We can't be everyone's cup of tea, so don't take it personally. Think of it like a job application; how many other people are applying for the position, and why would the employer be interested in asking you for interview?
I always read profiles carefully, and if I don't meet someone's 'criteria', I don't just message them anyway. I always craft a new message to them, include any 'buzz' word, maybe reference something specific o their profile, and always include my mugshot.
I do state on my profile that if they read and straight delete my message, I will take it they are not interested in me, and block them. Just move on |
