How can we prevent fake profiles existing on fab?

Good evening to all,
I have never written a forum post on fab before, until recently I didn't know the site had an active forum community to tell the truth.
As you can see from the topic I am coming to the end of my tether with (predominantly male) profiles turning out to be a complete waste of time. I am on fab swingers daily, and honestly about 95% of the contact I have with people turns out to be a complete waste of my time.
The issue is that people upload images, expect naive women/men/couples to fall for them, and expect free pictures or webcam fun in return. Luckily I have a rather good knowledge of computers due to my degree, therefore I am able to spot them a mile off and use useful online tools to check validity of profiles before I invest too much time.
I suggest people start to use: tineye.com [tineye image search] and images.google.com [google image search] when a new profile messages you. These tools will search the Internet for other sites that host the image. A word of warning though, these tools are not 100% accurate, therefore just because they don't turn up any results, it doesn't mean the picture you are looking at is genuine. Incase anyone is thinking about their images on fab, these are not trawled by web bots, meaning your images will not appear on the web.
I think fab administrators need to do more in regards to reporting fakes. I have reported well over 200-300 profiles from fab, usually 3-4 a day at least, and of these 200-300 maybe 1 or 2% have been removed from the site at a push. I wish to bring this issue to the community and to the attention of the site administrators that genuine members need to be safeguarded against the aforementioned fake profiles.
I think what annoys me most is that if a member is a paying (gold or silver) member, I have 0% hope that hey will ever be removed from he site, which worries me. If members are willing to lie about their age, ethnicity, location and images (I've had people lie about all of these), even to the extent of playing videos through their webcam to try fool me, what are their real motives when they meet a naive or unfortunate woman/male from the site?
I wanted to gauge people's reactions and see if anyone has any useful input/advice regarding the situation, maybe we could put it forward to the administrators.
Apologies for any spelling mistakes or grammar, as I wrote this on my phone. |

I forgot to add also....
To site administration. I am more than willing to pay a monthly membership for your services, but not until something changes in regards to fake members. Only a small fraction of members are legitimate and when so many profiles are created thinking this is some sort of free webcam site, they just disappear within a few hours. I would love to support the development team with costs, but until the site safeguards against legitimate members how can I happily pay for the service |

You'll never stop fakes using the site because it's free and easy to join, you don't even need a valid email address as nothing is sent to an email account to confirm the account. As for sites like tin eye and google reverse image search, most people on here already use them.
All you can do is not allow your time to be wasted. Don't send anyone pictures and don't go on cam for anyone without anything being reciprocated. If a guy seems too good to be true then sack him off before you even begin.
Just carry on receiving the messages, sift through the big dicks/handsome face combos a few at a time, get them to send you pictures or quickly pop on cam (them not you) if there's any hint of an excuse why they can't go on cam or send any pictures just fuck them off. Kik is quite a good app to download cos you can send live pictures, they can't be faked, well unless they took a picture of someone else but realistically how many guys would have a spare guy to take a face picture of or photo of his knob! Don't indulge any filthy chat or pictures till you're certain the person in the pictures is genuine. Have coffee socials quite soon after contact is initiated and from there you can arrange a proper meet. |

Hello and welcome to the forums.
The short answer in my opinion is that you can't stop fake profiles from being set up. There are some naïve users here but the majority are pretty savvy and use tineye etc. regularly.

there isn't a lot site staff can do about is as they cannot talk to every member on here to work out who is genuine/real and who is not. they ask for proof in the form of photo verification but don't enforce that, and even if they did these pics can be faked anyway.
you need to work out for yourself a way to stop time wasters from messing you about.
giving them wank fodder should be the first thing you stop doing. i never swap pics, never go off site to somewhere more private where they can hog my time (so i can chat to loads of guys at once coz if any are time wasters i've invested in other guys also and got back up plans).
i spent some time a while back writing a really good guide but can't remember what i called the topic, i do keep searching for it. |

Another reverse image app which works on iPhone is Reversee (which I think maybe hooks into google image reverse search - caught a few fakes on that recently. |

'Fake' profiles are an issue, always have been, always will be but it is necessary, in my view, to distinguish between those who are 'fake' in the sense of catfishes and those are time wasters.
A fake can be both that and a time waster. At time waster is not necessarily a fake. They can be who they say they are but just mess you around.
In terms of time wasting and fakes, the issue is not solely a problem with single men. Numerous dubious female and couple profiles pop up all the time. My experience of admin dealing with the same has been generally good.
I think that for as long as you insist on webcam verification, you will always have idiots try their luck, particularly as you look very attractive.

Nice post OP but you may as well ask the tide to stop coming in. It is not viable on a paid site to stop fakes let alone a free one.
Though I do find your location rate of hundreds at several a day to be rather unfortunate. Do you target all brand new accounts? I think I have only encountered one fake in several years.

I've never really had issues.
If i dont like the look of a profile i steer clear.
It's worked for me for so far
Perhaps i'm lucky

Guessing best way is to ensure people verify u more. Had two meets last week and despite asking neither verified. Dissapointing cos we can help each other |

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.
******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).
Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.
Admin
PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.
Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:
--
Your feedback has been saved.
A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.
By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.****** |

I have posted what Admin do with reports above. Don't forget there would have to be evidence for them to act |
