Why is it people who are childless think that babysitters can be found at a moments notice.... This Is a person you need to trust with the most precious things in your life, you are not going to let just any old tom dick or harry do it.

We only have my parents to babysit, so it really does limit our night's out for naughty fun. 10 years time and we'll be free for lots of fun then |

We're the same and as we both work the grandparents have them alot during the week so don't like to often ask. |

We're another couple that struggle with childcare, also money plays a big factor on the amount of times we can get out and play, some people seem to think we should have an endless pot

We have 3 young children but luckily my elderly father lives with us. Although as he's elderly 3 boys can be too much to handle during the day so we tend to ask him to watch them in the evenings that way they're in bed. |

You need to worry about the mentality of people though who think you'll be ok inviting strangers to your house when your kids are in the next room and saying "it's fine, we can be quiet" |

Is it not a generalisation to say people without children don't understand. I don't have any of my own, however, I do have other obligations in life which means I wouldn't be able to meet at the drop off a hat. |

you were lucky then...
as my sons dad has gone AWOL, I usually get an overnight pass every 6 weeks or so, thanks to the kindness of my sister and her husband... |

I think it's more a reflection of some people's sense of entitlement rather than a failing of all childless people to not understand how difficult it is to get sitters |

My youngest child is currently finishing her dissertation for her law degree.
Childcare is no longer an issue.

I had the misfortune to meet a man off here years ago who was arrested for downloading child porn. I went straight to the police and gave a statement to say he admitted doing it.
The police were amazed that I was willing to testify against him as most wouldn't have.
He had groomed a single mom (also off fab) about swapping pics and possibly meeting her 13 year old child.
Both people still pop up with profiles on here. So I report and also report them to the police.
So that's why as a childless woman I think that it's weird that people give out information readily about their kids and home life to strangers on the internet.
People don't need to know why you can and can't meet. Tell them no and leave it at that. |
