Hi. I've got a Fiat multijet for my sins and just tried to start it up. It starts ok but then just cuts out after about 2 seconds. Tried 3 times and same thing happens. It's a diesel. Any ideas?

Certainly sounds like fuel pump. They can stall sometimes. Sometimes a good whack gets them going again. If not it's a new one.

Is there fuel in it? Has this problem just happened or has it been about lately?

You do know FIAT is short for Fix it again tomorrow???

It'll hadda go to garage to start the elimination process, starting with the pump in the fuel tank there's two three pumps hopefully it's not the engine pump as they can cost afew pound! Get it left in to someone ??

Makes you feel better ive just had to do 4 injectors and a fuel pump on my Audi will prob stand me in around £1000 only because i know people

"Air in the fuel system might need bleeding

Probably. However the main question remains as to why and how air has got in. It may solve it now but it will reappear.

Garage job I think.

It could just be a airlock or air getting in the fuel line or fuel shut off valve is not opening
