Why do people have so many rules On here?
You have to be this height, you have to be that height, you have to breath so many times in a minute then maybe we will meet.
Thought swinging was fun? What happend to haveing a little laugh with People then seeing where it goes?

We probably miss out on a lot but as our lass is highly allergic to cats, she will choke up in the supermarket queue due to someone there having cat hair on their clothes so we have the rule no cat owners unless we meet them at a club after the jacuzzi has got the hairs and saliva off them. It is a safety rule. It costs us dear we know this but that is how it must be, so not all rules are quirks or being awkward.

A lot of the rules are created because of:
Likes/dislikes
Comfort and boundaries
But generally because, sadly, there are rude, ignorant, pushy, disrespectful, self involved, desperate and fake people/profiles on here.
So people create rules to avoid, deter them, or attract the types they'd like to meet. |

OP, it is very simple. People have very little spare time nowadays. We all have preferences and pet hates that are unlikely to change as we get in touch with different people. Why repeat them to everyone we get in contact with when it is much easier to have a write-up that anyone can read before deciding if they want to contact the person? Obviously some people have reading comprehension problems, but those who are able to write a few sentences in decent English might be unwilling to meet those people, so win win! |

Why does it surprise you that many people are here looking for what they want, not to try whomever is available and interested?
Nobody cares what you have to offer if it's not what they want. You could be the greatest person ever and an awesome shag but if they're looking for certain physical attributes that you don't have, it doesn't matter how fabulous you are.
I realise that's frustrating for you. I realise you think they are missing out by being so narrow-minded. I realise you feel unfairly excluded.
You have to accept it and get over it. People are here for what they want, not to provide what you want. You have to be patient, show yourself off to your best advantage and wait until you find the people you are interested in, who also want what you are offering.
People with strict criteria almost certainly realise they're limiting their potential meets. It's great you're concerned they're missing out, (except you're not really, are you? You're bothered you are missing out), but they've decided they're happy with that. If it's not working for them, they'll change their criteria, (or give up and leave).
People can look for whatever they like here. They're not going to put what you want ahead of that and it's pretty daft to think they should. |

Because I know what i like and what I don't like. We don't have any hard and fast rules on appearance or height etc, but I do have preferences but doesn't everyone?
We aren't on here for a quick shag. We are a couple, if i want a quickie i just wait for my husband to get home!
We are here for fun and relaxed experiences and that for us, means finding the right kind of people to have those experiences with. |

Rules are in place to enable the person messaging to respect the recipients boundaries. I have a hairy chest, some ladies hate that, that's fine, out of courtesy I would not message them.
People have a choice and I find although new to the site if you show respect and courtesy that far better than being a bullish pushy idiot |

I do exactly the same.
Yes here are a fair few profiles with rules but I respect their preferences and move on if those rules blatantly exclude any desire to hear from me.
As for those rules being ridiculous...
One person's sensible rules are another person's ridiculous rules, all created to stem the flow of unwanted messages.

if someone doesn't catch our attention we ain't fucking them
you need a few preferences to cut the amount of messages from people you will never meet. Doesn't stop people who haven't a chance

I read profiles and decide if I want to look at the pictures afterwards so if I see a really demanding profile I will not even look at the pics and definitely not message so what works for some will not work for others. I don't see the need to vilify the OP for a thread about rules - at no point in the original post did he say people couldn't have preferences or even couldn't have rules - just that he had noticed a lot of profiles with rules |

I think the OP's example is that of a preference. I am not disagreeing some people have rules, or if you wish, hoops that members need to jump through and that the same are excessive. However it is important to point out that personal preference on issues such as height, weight, hair colour are not rules but rather preferences. |

The rules I have are that I won't play with someone who is cheating and only play with consenting adults.
I have preferences, in that I am only attracted to women and sometimes prefer curvy/BBW. I prefer someone who shares some sexual interests with me so we are hopefully compatible in the bedroom. And a nice personality helps too.
