Why's it matter? They don't want people messaging them if they don't know them and that's all you need to know.
They probably should block everyone from messaging tbh but it's up to them.

Various reasons, only want to be in contact with those they know, not meeting presently, whatever reason they have is good enough for them. Just look at the next profile  |

Seriously though.......it takes all sorts and you can't ever know what reasons propel have so if what people say doesn't lie comfortably with you, simply look at the next profile. |

Kind of, but not exactly.
It's a place where people can ask for what they want and offer what they have to offer. No obligation to anyone to be a service or available to everyone who wants them.

I don't have it on my profile, but I DO delete messages from people I don't know. I get to know people through the chat rooms, not through the inbox system. And so far, it's working well. So ... don't message me unless I already know you. |

I'm not meeting, it says so in my profile, it also says I don't meet men. Yesterday I took my filters off for an hour. I got 4 graphic messages in that period of time saying what Men, who I'm not meeting, would like to do to me!!!! Not a go, how are you, graphic messages, and you wonder why it's not appropriate for someone to state this on their profile ?? |

Yes it was an experiment to see how many people took no notice of profiles  |

We mainly use the site for keeping in contact with people we have met at clubs - yes we've used it for meeting people and checking out what's on at clubs etc but there's plenty of reasons people might have nothing to say to new people. |
