I have type 2 mild. But I am convinced that the tablets have had the side effect of shrinking my cock and also not as hard as once was. Has anyone else had such problems is it commonplace and what remedies are available? All help appreciated.

I (Mr) am type 2 Diabetic, was severe about a year ago until I lost a load of weight. I was on eight tablets per day. My GP advised that erectile dysfunction can be a bi-product of diabetes for some sufferers. Personally it hasn't affected me whatsoever. I still get good strong erections and have had no loss in sex drive or ability to cum etc.

Not sure about remedies OP, but I would definitely have a chat with your GP about it.

GP will most likely prescribe Viagra or similar to counteract the effects of the diabetes meds. See your GP and they will give you the best advice.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

Asking your doctor will be more useful to you than asking here!

I'm type 1 (latent autoimmune to be precise) and my sexual performance in all ways (size, stamina, appetite) all seem to have suffered over the years as things have got worse.

Hope this helps, bit advice is as always see your GP. And please do not buy them off the internet, you really do not know what you are getting or how they will react with other drugs.

Go and see the diabetic nurse at your surgery - they have leaflets about it and can give you lots of good advice.

I'm type 2 got the doc to prescribe Viagra don't always need them unless I know we are having a play meet . I found that it was the statins that I was prescribed that affected me more than the metformin , statins gave me muscle wasting, joint pain , digestive problems and made getting and erection difficult . Stopped taking the statins for over a year now feel much better in myself and my muscle has returned along with my erections John

Not a doctor but medical secretary here. I am exposed to a lot of medical stuff. Diabetics get erectile dysfunction particularly if uncontrolled for years. Mild diabetes shouldn't do so. Never come across an actual issue with cock size changing - just performance.

There is zero evidence diabetic medications 'shrink your cock'

As stated erectile dysfunction is a long established problem related to diabetes itself not the treatments for it

Diabetes if uncontrolled, can affect the small blood carrying vessels in your body.

erectile problems and loss of feeling in your feet are due to this.

when you go for your annual check up the nurse should check your feet and ask about erectile problems.(not with your feet lol)

Dont forget she will see lots of diabetics and you wont be the first to mention tail troubles !

Just want to point out, type 2 is not mild diabetes. There is no such thing as mild diabetes. Its just the type 2 isn't caused by an auto-immune disorder, whereas type 1 and LADA is. All diabetics have an impaired or unfunctioning pancreas.

No such thing as 'mild' diabetes.

If your blood sugars are high, you'll have election problems.

Stop eating carbs if they are high.

Almost spot on. T2 is more likely to be an over production of insulin due to the receptors being damaged. It's why 80% of T2 are overweight and T1 underweight at diagnosis as insulin is the fat building hormone.

It's far more complicated than that but generally, T2 is the failure of the insulin receptors so the pancreas has to produce ever increasing amounts of insulin for it to work on dietary carbohydrates.

You can improve insulin resistance and help your pancreas by cutting out as much carb in your diet as possible. I eat less than 30g a day and have an HbA1c of around 4.5

Insulin makes you fat and elevated blood sugars damage every part of your body.
