Not sure that's true... or there may be alternative answers as there was a video site called amp something so while the above answer maybe correct I think there is a more sexual based answer but there are plenty of perverts here to clear it up I'm sure x |

It's called ampersand because it used to be added on to the end of the alphabet and when children recited it they said "and per se and" it all ran together hence ampersand ...and that's thirty seconds of your life you'll never get back  "

Also, when you see ?? (two question marks), it's usually a winky smiley that got messed up, usually because it came from the iphone emoticon keyboard, not typed out or selected from the ones already in Fab. |
