It's "&" but the site sometimes replaces it with the word amp which is short for ampersand...which is the name of that symbol.

No don't! You're not the first person to ask and you really won't be the last .

It's called ampersand because it used to be added on to the end of the alphabet and when children recited it they said "and per se and" it all ran together hence ampersand ...and that's thirty seconds of your life you'll never get back

Just a slight glitch in the site when it comes to the ampersand '&'.

Not sure that's true... or there may be alternative answers as there was a video site called amp something so while the above answer maybe correct I think there is a more sexual based answer but there are plenty of perverts here to clear it up I'm sure x

Love a bit of useless trivia. Always good for filling the awkward silences at the pub!

Plymouth and Newcastle (sometimes)

We googled it when we joined after seeing it on so many profiles and could find no sexual connotation to it anywhere.

Bristol Area

Also, when you see ?? (two question marks), it's usually a winky smiley that got messed up, usually because it came from the iphone emoticon keyboard, not typed out or selected from the ones already in Fab.
