OK, I've just read another ranting profile about 'people not reading our profile'. I'm not suprised! A dozen lines of text with no full stops, commas in the wrong place, spelling mistakes, etc.
How hard can it be to write a profile in good English? Is it because they don't know how? Or just don't care? If the latter, why should we care when it comes to reading it?

I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt if it looks like a person is dyslexic or has another learning difficulty. Indeed I have asked this in the past.
But laziness and "txt spk" are good ways to lose my interest. If you can't put a little effort into your profile and messages, why should I assume you'll put effort into sex? |

anyway, sticking head above para-pit . I am dyslexic I use a good spell checker and I use to use an on-line grammar checker but the started to charging too much. If anyone wants to inspect and give positive comments i would appreciate it |

Playing devils advocate it's a sign of the times. My parents and grandparents didn't like how I slang talked. These 'slang' words are now acceptable and are in the Oxford dictionary. Just as some of these text words and abbreviations are starting to creep in.
Unfortunately we are just getting old in our ways.

I have found that if people write poorly then a high percentage of them turn out to be timewasters. May be other reasons of course but I now use it as a " filter". |

I have found that if people write poorly then a high percentage of them turn out to be timewasters. May be other reasons of course but I now use it as a " filter"."

Yes of course. One is legally my wife, but we (all three ) think of ourselves as equals. So I am their husband and they are my wives. Each wife looks on the other as their wife. Either will introduce me as their husband as I introduce either/both as my wife. We live as three and think as three. |

I think my point is pretty obvious.
You have one wife and another relationship with another woman.
You can call her your wife if you want but it no more makes her your wife than me caling our dog a kangaroo makes him a kangaroo. .
The state will recognise one of these relationships and not the other.

This is my ultimate pet hate!!
I find it a turn off reading messages that we receive from 50 year old people that read like:
Wud luv fun with yous!!
We are a couple not a cupple !
The list could go on. Why can't people just grow up and speak to people in an adult manner? It gets you further. Well, certainly with us. And before people say 'it's fab it's not school' I agree. But people have to find connection with each other. And this is not one of ours.

This keeps coming up as an "excuse"...but there are such things as spell checkers. Profile text could be written in a word processing application...then pasted in.
I thought I had sex daily. Then realised I did, in fact, have dyslexia.
And this isn't meant in any way to be taking the mickey....my middle daughter is dyslexic.....but it hasn't stopped her qualifying as a doctor! So hardly an excuse for a crap profile? |

dyslexia doesn't apply when people type things like "could of" instead of "could have" - or "we was" instead of "we were" - it's just the way they speak. Nothing wrong with that per se, just makes it very difficult for some people to make a connection with them.
Typing errors such as iwth instead of with are different, as are autocorrect errors, which for me are much more "forgiveable" lol
