Most hotels seem to be quite responsible these days

I'm no expert but if you book a taxi in advance it can be cheaper so you could stay a bit further out?

Or try airbnb

South Manchester, M19 or M20 postcodes. Otherwise Salford. Neither would be more than £10-£15 in a taxi or some night buses xx

Some real bargains in Oldham - £15/£20 in a taxi - and the Metrolink goes straight to city centre too - don't think you'll find cheaper

or the Campanile in Salford - only a mile from city centre but, being in Salford - so much cheaper

North Wales

We've stayed at the copthorne hotel out in the salford quays a few times. If you book it in advance then it's about £70. Tram into the center from over the road.

Also the Park Inn near the MEN arena (or whatever it's called now) can be got for about the same in advance.

Check out groupon as well for hotel deals
