Hi,
On my profile I'm looking to meet women. I am a woman too.
The question just came my mind. How do you practise safe sex when they are two females involved. I have, of course googled this. But it mentions dams and so forth... 
So anyone who is female... But has had sex with another female. How did you practise safe sex... Did you use anything? |

There are dental dams available from Gum clinics, although as far as are bodies caressing each other I don't use anything, if I'm using a strap-on or any other toy I always put a condom on it anyway so that helps keep us safe.. somebody may have some other tips also |

You can use dental dams for oral - though in the heat of the moment they usually get discarded!
Quite honestly, the best thing you can do is just have an honest and open conversation beforehand, discuss your histories and be genuine about what each of you likes - maybe one or neither of you wants oral...
In my last three long term relationships with women, it was much more about using fingers or toys - both of which can be kept clean!
Usually, each woman will have her own toys that she's found work for her, so there's no need to swap or share them!
Transmission between women is rare, though it does happen, but a little care can make things a lot safer if you're worried!

ps - always keep your fingernails short, clean and smooth - then there is much less chance of an accidental scratch!
Rub your nails on the inside of your lips (mouth lips!!!) - if you can feel any roughness, then they are too sharp!
I shall never forget one lover asking me on a first date why my nails were so short (it was her first lesbian relationship)..... Next morning she knew why and cut all hers short as well.....!!!

Pretty much do what has been said above, know how you are playing with, careful with nails, use your own toys on you, or put a condom on them. Always clean toys throughly before and after play etc...

Thanks for the tips. I've met someone..and we've arranged a social meet... But I have a feeling it's going to be more than just a social meet.... If you understand what I mean.

When I went for a clinic check-up, they asked if I did FF oral and gave me a dental dam to try out, which I did. It tasted of chocolate, which isn't exactly the taste I'm after when doing oral! I have never used a dam before or since. |

My experience of Dams (and this is the male perspective) is very little in the swinging community. We have been to many clubs and seen lots of action.
In all this time, we have only ever had one woman mention dams and this was a lady in a couple.
For the most part you see/hear very little. Well that's our experience on the circuit.
I understand the safe sex part and I guess this opens the can of worms.
But typically what you see for the most part is safe sex in terms of penetration (ie Condoms) and oral sex (whether man or woman) is for the most part without.
That is not a definitive answer and might be generalising (from our experience) or judging what is right or wrong when it comes to safe sex, it's simply an observation from our perspective to share with you.
Ultimately, you do what you feel comfortable with.
We don't use dams personally, but we don't swing with everybody (I know this isn't a safe sex qualifier as such), but it about making a judgement call to how you feel.
We follow hygiene and expect the same. I keep my nails trimmed and treat a pussy with care and consideration without being rough or gradually build into being a bit firmer (gentle start).
As for toys, we use a product called Milton and religiously clean our toys after each use, regardless of whether used on Lizzie or in swinging.

My nails are short and I'm not a lesbian or bi .I keep them short for work reasons .  |
