We've always had a laid back approach to playing. It's not the end of the world if we don't but recently we've found ourselves with a rather empty inbox. Now we do contact people and are not afraid of making first contact. However it is nice to get the odd message! Our question is do you find yourselves sending more messages than you tend to receive? Kev is a bit of an insomniac, so he sends many, many messages when he's lying awake (listening to me snoring!)
If he's sleeping, though, we tend to send less than we receive. (Other than replying to received messages obvs)

Oddly enough we very rarely send messages first. One in every hundred we might send first, the other 99 we received first.
Why is this? Answer: we assume the people we're interested in won't be interested in us.
Not that we don't have some interest in those messaging us.  |

peaks and troughs, we rarely initiate contact unless talking to people on forums , a month or so ago we had a spate of really suitable guys message us in short timeframe, last couple of weeks it's been delete/block quite heavily which isn't great but seemed necessary |

Yeah the single M filters stayed off for about 10 hours as we were overloaded with nice males but also some very rude people that put Ellie right off. But I'd say our average would have to be maybe 2 couples out of the 30 or so messages we send would have been first contact to us. |
