Reply to messages? Maybe you have been blocked by them?
As to the status, on a pc just click on your account, then Your Current status on the left hand side, if you are on a phone, its on the right
Have you had a message to say your account as been suspended by admin as I think that stops you from doing most things on the site other than just browsing
