I've bought a few over the years, mostly the stretchy silicone rubber ones. I'd recommend the clear one from lovehoney.

The benefits are that it increases sensitivity, stay more rigid for longer and the missus enjoys it.

I used to use light switch pull cord - you can get different diameter or paracord. also lace up the shaft in criss-cross pattern for photos.
