Ok ladies help me out. After reading about magic shaving powder on one of the threads, off I popped to eBay to buy my own supply.
So today, I have a couple of days shaving regrowth, mixed the powder to yogurt consistency, applied, waited the suggested 8 mins (well nearly 10 actually) and......nothing!
Hasn't touched the hairs. What did I do wrong? Think I'm going to join the revolution and let it grow back! |

I had more than a couple of days growth when Ive used it successfully but I think everybody's hair is different and may require an adjustment of time.
I think I left it a little longer and just tried a patch to see if it had worked. I think its a great product for me but its just a matter of working out which is right for you. I use the aloe one. I applied it with a tinting brush too and it worked well in the nooks and crannies!

"Did you just wash it off? Or scrape it off? I use an old credit card. The powder weakens the hair and then the card or whatever you want to use actually breaks it. "
This
Plus I always leave more than a couple of days growth. |

We both use it with no problem, leave at least 4/5 days in between applications, we leave on for 8 -10 minutes then rub off with a sponge in the shower... Perfect results every time and the more you use it the hair seems to take longer to grow back ... |

A fake is possible I suppose but I have always bought on eBay without issue.
It may be that you had a dilute mix, it needs to be strong enough to work and because of that you need to keep it damp when its on, if it dries out it also doesn't work.
I also leave it on for up to 15 min but I would be step up to that, as everyone is different.
I find rubbing it off with an old towel flannel works and is less sharp than a scraper.
Try it again and let us know. With pictures? |

The product is called "Magic shaving powder" i buy it from Amazon and get the platinum (silver coloured tub) with aloe. Mix the powder with water, slap it on, wait a few minutes and remove. Its been around for about 100 years, so they must be doing something right. I think it was originally designed in the U.S. for black men who couldn't shave because the tight curl of black hair was leading to ingrown hairs. |

"Totally useless. I couldn't get it thick enough to apply. I was so frustrated!! Back to Hollywood waxing!
Surely that just means you added too much water? "
No i added a tiny bit and tried to mix but it just never worked. I'm beginning to think I got a dud!! |

Near enough |
Have just taken delivery of some from Amazon, I had previously got some from eBay which I noticed when mixed was a bit grey, just mixed the one from Amazon (not the 79p one) and it's pure white when mixed and works. Hopefully this will help those who are coming across ones not working. If it's not white it's not right (ooh I'm a poet too) |

This ^
After applying the mix, did you make sure it stayed damp by spraying it with water or did you allow it to dry? If you allowed it to dry it won't work. You MUST scrape of the mix first, then wash off and remaining residue. |
