Depends where you got them from. If from lloyds pharmacy or super drug online, go with what it says on the pack.
If you got them from a mate or a bloke down the pub, throw them away cos I can sell you some magic beans that are loads better. |

I'm assuming you already know about the combination of other things that if taken with these will kill you dead or stop your heart?
(Although killing you dead can have the side effect of stopping your heart)
And I assume you've had the relevant blood pressure tests etc beforehand or you wouldn't have bought them.
Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs btw.

"Suggest you take what the doctor subscribed.
This. If not prescribed, your an idiot.
Are you only on this site to insult people?"
In fairness to the poster, these are strong drugs that can kill you. It is unusual for it to happen but it does, especially if not prescribed.I know of one case got drugs off net who died that's enough that I'd treat them with respect. |

Be careful crossing the road to as that cause death or mutilation. Swimming like wise can cause death by drowning. A lot of people die in their sleep. Sleep tight everyone |

the person has a kinda point... IF actually they are a prescribed drug...if he got them from a doctor they would already have the doseage to take on the label on them .....
silly... idiot.... its all subjective |

I guess the point is he asked for advice, not sanctimonious preaching.
Think the issue of how many other dangerous things are out there has been covered.
Yes, in extreme circumstances a person could die. As with legal highs. And booze. To those 'educating' the OP. Are you subject matter experts? Seems like you probably don't even have experience to fall back on so in reality are probably the least qualified by any measure to offer advice?

Really? It seems that people with heart problems might have died after taking ED meds due to the exertion of having sex not because of the drugs. The main thing you shouldn't do is use poppers at the same time as both products lower blood pressure.
If you go to see a doctor they can arrange to have eg your testosterone levels checked. I have them on private prescription, for a variety of reasons including taking two meds that can cause erectile problems. The prescription is free and the tablets cost me £1.23 each.
I would agree with others not to trust the Internet.

Tiny bit lost with this.
One was advise, the other an opinion.
The other?

"Just got 4 x 50 mg tablets....should I take one or take a half. Any help/ experiences would be great...thanks" Did you see a Doctor first to have your blood pressure checked. You are not supposed to break pills in half as they have a surface coating and if you break them up it can affect how they dissolve.

If you got them from the web then there is a simple way to get the best dose.
First get 100mg of talc. Add in a good teaspoon of rat poison, a pinch or two of plaster dust and a smidgen of compost. Now add 3ml of blue dye and the fluff out of your belly button.
Mix thoroughly, divide into 4 equal portions and dry in a warm oven for 20 mins.
Now throw away or flush the ones you bought from the web and try these instead. Likely to be the same recipe.
If however they are actually prescribed by a doctor for your erectile dysfunction.....then read the packet and follow the dosage on your scrip! |

"Just got 4 x 50 mg tablets....should I take one or take a half. Any help/ experiences would be great...thanks" It is hard (sorry) for individuals to accurately comment because people will react differently; read the leaflet and just be aware of the side effects. Try a whole or a half, its your call, depending on what is subscribed, one 50mg is a halfway dose, 100mg being the recommended max for a single dose in a 24hr period, without affecting efficacy. It may take several trials before any affect is noticed; I started out with half, and no noticable increase in erection sustainability. 50mg and no alcohol intake last saturday, and I was fully hard for a few hours, much better response than previously. Sandoz sildenafil have a cross on the top to aid division of the tablet into half or quarters, for the 25mg min dosage, as described in the user info.
If prescribed 50mg then take that. If that gives you a raging horn for hours, yipee! Half the dose next time, and see if that works as well. |

They're strong drugs and they can kill you? Are you generalising black market drugs with this statement?

i don't think that is the issue... its buying them without any sort of prescription that is the issue, whether it be nhs or private....
as someone said... if they had been prescribed it would have the taking instructions on the label... it would also have been prescribed at the right doseage.... |

I think if you were meant to take less the doctor would have prescribed a smaller dose. My husband gets his from lloyds pharmacy after filling in an online form (which I think is terrible as a doctor should check full medical history and do blood pressure as far as I'm concerned) his are 100mg. My friends get theirs from Asda, walk I'm the store answer a few health questions and they give you 50mg to start. Take what you were advised and if you bought them anywhere that doesn't give advice, bin them! |

If taken with nitrate based blood pressure reducing medication they will amplify the effect of the blood pressure tablets - even lower blood pressure! That info has come from my cardiac nurse! |

Statisticly you are more likely to die on the toilet than in bed. That's something to think about when you're not feeling well and need a dump!! |

"They're strong drugs and they can kill you? Are you generalising black market drugs with this statement? " A friend (48) had these prescribed and had a heart attack after taking one. They are not trivial drugs and the black market ones are often worse but even the real thing should be treated with kid gloves. Only use after proper tests and as per doctors recommendation. If you don't, I'm with the poster further up, you're an idiot.

I hope OP you did get them of your GP how ever they should never be taken with any carduac condition ,statins or other heart medication and shot in the dark but if you do suffer from a cardiac related problem never ever take your GTN spray whilst on these and ring 999 if you do
Otherwise we will assume your sensible and got them off the doc have fun
P.S I'm a paramedic just throwing my pennies worth in |

Seen as i work for the manufacturer of sildenafil, i know they are only legally available on prescription. They come in various strengths so unless you got them from your doctor dont take them. They are designed to increase the heart rate so that they increase blood flow and hopfully give an erection, if you have a heart condition they will kill you, even healthy people can have a heart attack from them if they take too much or too strong a dose |

Make sure you swallow it completely, or you'll get a stiff neck.
rubbing one on your eye makes you look hard- useful in rough areas.
But seriously, good luck and let us know how you got on. Won't be long til I'm trying some myself, no doubt |

I have had a heart attack and am taking medication. My doctor prescribed viagra to counter the side effects.
Are you saying my doctor is trying to kill me! |

I think there are far to many bullshitters on here.
Viagra or sildenafil citrate, it's the same thing. Does not work by making your heart beat faster. It dilates blood vessels to allow increased blood flow. GTN spray used to ease angina also dilates blood vessels. If used togeather they will cause a massive drop in blood pressure which can cause a person to collapse. Poppers should also never be used with viagra because they dilate blood vessel and will have the same effect. I know this because my cardiac doctor told me. And she wasn't bullshitting. |
