"We've arranged a meet but the other party seems reluctant to sent us a recent pic.the pics on profile are over 5yrs old. Would you still meet or would you call it off?"
Only you can decide what's right for you. If you have suspicions either listen to them or throw caution to the wind.
If you meet them you are not obligated to play, but your time may be too precious for you to risk that. |

Personally I wouldn't. But then I don't meet for socials and I have very limited time. As others have said it depends on your personal situation and whether you want you risk them being nothing like how you expect. |

Sounds pretty suspect to me.
If you have kik on your phone and they have you could ask for a live pic taken there and then, or try Skype or camming somehow. Then it won't be a waste of your time and would be far less embarrassing than arranging a social meet, sloth from the goonies turns up and you have to tell him face to face that he's not for you...... |

message me any time, it would be great to meet you!

I'm guessing you have sent recent face pics? If so then I'd be cautious about what they are hiding but if they are doing a bit of 'you show me yours, I'll show you mine' then I can see where they are coming from |

"Thought as much. First thing we did was sent recent pics .looks like a night in then. Thanksfor your reply. Just makes you wonder why so reluctant to send a pic. "
They probably couldn't be bothered to delete and upload newer pics. It already says a lot about how motivated they are in meeting, they ain't worth it |

they may be one of those brad pitt type people who when in their 40's still look like the same as when they were in their 20's? |

"Wouldn't meet. Any iffy or negative vibes regardless of the stage of meeting and we'd cancel. Reluctant to send a recent pic and five year old profile pics are red flags for us."
This. Life's too short to get pissed about. |

"If it's another couple then 'they' may not still be a couple. It can't be difficult to take a quick photo in this day and age, surely?"
And this. Probably just the guy left on the profile. |

It's a preference, this forum is all for preferences when it suits the users but against preferences when it clashes with ones own preference.
If a person does not want to send a pic that is their choice. Move on if it means so much to you or meet them if it doesn't.
Don't try to read something into it. |

All our pics taken within the last few weeks.
Asked someone for a recent pic as the one they had on show wasn't too clear and they had sunglasses on. The 'recent' pic they sent was them at a wedding which had a lot less grey hairs on it and must've have been a good 5-10 years old.
Don't see what people hope to achieve by hiding what they look like. You are what you are and put your real likeness up then there won't be any embarrassing face to face refusals/runners. |
