"Ollivanders do a whole range of wands"
Pmfsl!!!
On a serious note, I had an Hitachi and it was great...till I killed it I now have a cheaper version, and although possibly not quite as powerful it certainly isn't lacking and has lasted longer than the Hitachi! Hope this helps |

We have both and can confirm that the Doxy is more powerful and the pulse setting totally awesome.
Since no genuine Hitachi was ever made that ran directly from 240V mains but the doxy does it tends to be our preferred wand these days.

Now Im the opposite....have both but prefer the Hitachi. I prefer the lower setting on the Hitachi and the Doxy doesnt go so low. But I do like the pulse. If I could mix the lower setting with the pulse function it would be perfect |

How much noise do these make?
Ex had a couple of rabbits. First was pretty quiet but then she got a more modern one that was really noisey!! She didnt want to use it when anyone else was in the house!!! |

We used to sell the Hitachi and I swore by it...I still have one myself! However, I cannot get the genuine article cheap enough anymore, so we tried the Doxy and it is FANTASTIC! So we will be stocking these from now on! |

just checked mine - i know it was about 40 quid - is a fairy mini wand - goes from a buzz to a blast - no pulse but a little wrist movement is sufficient - had it a few years now - the highest setting is more than enough - love it |

Not even one tenth as noisey as she will be....
But if you get a mains powered one (more powerful motor), either have an extension reel or as I have, solder an 8 meter wire in to replace the original...
I have used these a lot and unless your at home, sockets are fucking miles away from where they need to be, especially after everyone has plugged their devices in. |

You can no longer get the original Hitachi Magic Wand. Hitachi sold the rights to a US company a few years ago. Reports vary some saying the new ones are not as good as the older type. Others disagree. Either way you will need a 220v - 110v stepdown transformer - about 20 quid from Maplin.
We have both a genuine Hitchai and a Doxy. DG prefers the Hitachi with a speed controller as it gives her better control of the speeds at those critical moments. The benefit of the Doxy, apart from the pulse setting, is that it is 220 - 240v and the company making them is UK based. I got a very quick reply to a query I had from them. |
