We were wondering if people still hold them as we don't seem to find many around us or we not looking hard enough?

It's hard work plus we are wanting socials before hand as we want to know who we are inviting to our home plus we want a good mix where everyone feels comfortable, but we are doing ok, but need 2 or 3 more couples

We go to a party every month or two depending in who is hosting

They are always great fun and everyone has a good time

ppl do hold them but they do it by invite only as a rule xxx well they do down this way cos i go to lots lol

We're hosting our first party on 3 July, I'm very nervous!

We've invited some friends and are now chatting to some others in the area with a view to having them join us.

We don't accommodate so have booked an apartment, hopefully it will be a great night

I did hold them but got fed up of guys not turning up and couples who wanted me to find the guys for them and then not turn up on the night

If you look at the "meets" section, its fair to say it's a Northern's thingy...I did read once that the practise sprang up during the miners strike as few Northerners had a TV...

Agree, the party we are organising forthe 27th of June is for people we've met, still looking for a few more couples but likewise we want at least a social with them first as we want to know who we are inviting in to our home and will compliment our other guests

We have held a couple, but they are really hard work and its amazing how few people say they have time to come compared to how many say they want to go.
